The Gorechosen of Dromm are the newest warband for Warhammer Underworlds, entering the Nethermaze to enact a blood ritual to wound the very realm itself. But how are they going to play?
We’ve seen how Dromm, the Wounder of Worlds can use his Enrage action to force another fighter to make a Charge action. This is perfect for preventing opponents from scoring Objective cards such as Supremacy (for being on three Objective tokens) or Making a Statement (for being on all the Objective tokens in your territory). But what other tricks does his warband have up their blood-soaked sleeves?
The Gorechosen of Dromm are a control-style warband – they’re all about dominating the battlefield, deciding where combats happen, and stopping your opponent from completing their carefully planned out tactics. The Slaughterpriest* Dromm has three Prayer gambits that are especially useful for disrupting enemy plans.
All three can throw a big spanner into other warbands’ plans, whether you’re preventing opposing fighters from healing, keeping them from running away, or forcing them to charge.
They’ll also help you score your own Objectives. Using any Domain gambit will let you score A Potent Offering when you take an enemy fighter out of action – made even easier by spending blood tithe points to extend the gambit’s duration – while Domain of Wrath can really help ensure you score Glorious Battle.
When making those Charge actions, you want to determine exactly where the Attack will happen. Crazed Rampager is an upgrade that gives you the extra reach to choose where engagements take place.
As we know, Khorne cares not from where the blood flows… but wouldn’t it be nice to get a few extra actions before your skull is added to the pile at the foot of the Brass Throne? Final Frenzy means you can stick around until the end of the action phase before you finally remove your fighter – just think of all the extra skulls you could claim in that time.
That’s just a taste of what the Gorechosen of Dromm can do with their Rivals deck. They also come with a selection of universal cards that any Warhammer Underworlds warband can use – and they’ll be getting a warscroll for use in Warhammer Age of Sigmar which you can download here.
In the meantime, we’ve put together this handy painting guide so you’ll be able to get the Gorechosen of Dromm ready for action beneath the seas of Ulgu in next to no time.
You can pre-order the Gorechosen of Dromm right now along with the new Rivals deck, Deadly Depths.
