Last week, we brought you a first look at December’s issue of White Dwarf, detailing some of the masses of Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 content you’ll find within its bulging covers.
We also highlighted the first-ever Blood Bowl Match Report for the new season. Today, we’re bringing you a… unique look at that article, as well as a peek at some of the content for the other games featured in this jam-packed issue.
We’re kicking off (sorry) with another take on the Bögehafen Bash, from our guest correspondents, the infamous Jim and Bob.
Jim: Hello sports fans! We hope you’re prepared for a soon-to-be-classic issue of White Dwarf, because we are in it!
Bob: That’s right, Jim, and yes, we’ll be happy to autograph your copies if you send them to–
Jim: Never mind that, Bob, we have limited time and have to explain to the good readers why the Match Report is a must-read!
Bob: The Bögehafen Bash was one of the best games of Blood Bowl I’ve ever seen. The report’s full of exciting action, thrilling blocks, even some of those touchdowns people seem to like.
Jim: Most importantly, on every page, you’ll find our insightful, incisive commentary.
Bob: Yeah, we bring you all the ins and outs, and explain exactly why it’s all important. I think we even get most of the players’ names right.
Jim: There are also thoughts from the coaches, making this the perfect way to learn how true Blood Bowl greats approach the game.
Bob: You really shouldn’t miss it.
Jim: An excellent last word there, Bob.
Bob: Until you spoiled it by saying more.
Thanks to Jim and Bob for that, er, tremendous insight. Moving on, the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed in the contents list we showed in the White Dwarf Preview that a variety of other games are getting some attention. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can look forward to.
It’s a well known fact that the Imperial Navy has the best planes in the galaxy* – so it’s no wonder that Ork and T’au forces keep stealing them… This White Dwarf brings you rules for adding Imperial Navy aircraft to Ork Air Waaagh! squadrons as looted planes (complete with Ork bombs!) and to T’au Air Caste squadrons as human auxiliaries.
Surprise your opponents with an unexpected flyer, or just take the opportunity to paint your Imperial planes in a different colour scheme.
Is your Necromunda gang just too good? Have you built them to a point where no would-be rivals can get a look in? It might be time to see them off in a blaze of glory. This article provides loads of suggestions for ways you can give your gang a fitting ending. It includes three detailed scenarios, each with their own special rules that are sure to give any gang the denouement they deserve.
With the new season of Warhammer Underworlds rapidly approaching – you can pre-order the Direchasm boxed game now! – designer Dave Sanders takes an affectionate look back at the warbands of Beastgrave, highlighting his favourite fighter from each.
