Warbands brave the deepest reaches of Ghur to find magical treasure in Warhammer Underworlds: Wyrdhollow, while the World Eaters lash out with their Combat Patrol in this week’s pre-orders.
Warhammer Underworlds: Wyrdhollow
An overload of change magic swirling around the depths of Ghur has lured the forces of Sigmar and Tzeentch to battle over sorcerous artefacts in Warhammer Underworlds: Wyrdhollow. This new core set has everything for two players to get started with Warhammer Underworlds right away.
The box contains two warbands, the battle-wizards of Domitan’s Stormcoven, and the gibbering menagerie of Ephilim’s Pandaemonium. These two warbands clash over two new double-sided terrain boards, using their own powerful Rivals decks. There are two additional Rivals decks included – the magical Seismic Shock and the universal Toxic Terrors – alongside a 56-page rule book and all the tokens and dice you need to play.
The Warhammer painting team have put together a guide to help you paint Domitan’s Stormcoven in the classic Hammers of Sigmar colour scheme, with just 10 paints.
Basecoat your miniatures with Retributor Armour spray, then shade all the armour with Reikland Fleshshade. Pick out the white cloth and other details with Corax White, the cloak with Kantor Blue, and black leather with Abaddon Black. Rhinox Hide can be used to add variety to leather, Celestra Grey will be used on the rocks, scrolls, gems, and bottles on the miniature. Weapon wrappings and seals look great in Gal Vorbak Red, and the metallic details will shine with Leadbelcher. You can then shade all of these areas with Nuln Oil, before using Pylar Glacier to add magical effects to various areas.
Combat Patrol: World Eaters
Combat Patrol: World Eaters is a box packed to the brim with the angriest warriors of the 41st-millennium. Led by a World Eaters Lord on a Juggernaut, who can also be built as the frenzied Lord Invocatus, this crimson gut-punch of a box also contains 20 Khorne Berzerkers, 10 Jakhals, and two World Eaters transfer sheets. That’s a whole lot of chainblades hungry for action.
