Even by the loose standards of the underhive’s hiring process, the Mind-Locked Wyrds of the criminal Psi-Syndica cartel are quite unusual employees. These are unsanctioned psykers, broken to the will of their sinister masters through illegal technology and pressed into service as foot soldiers.
Gangs allied to the Psi-Syndica can bring these enslaved witches to battle as free Hired Guns. Mind-Locked Wyrds have access to six aggressive Wyrd Powers, including Scouring, Assail, and Hypnosis.* On top of that, they’re frightening to face in battle (literally), as their unsettling nature makes them Fearsome.
Of course, being the creepiest lads in the hive themselves, House Delaque often find themselves as fellow travellers with the Psi-Syndica – impressed, no doubt, by all that hair – and are particularly suited to bringing along a rogue psyker.
That’s why this forthcoming set from Forge World includes three Cephalopod Spektors alongside one Mind-Locked Wyrd. These nasty little Exotic Beasts are beloved by Delaque Masters of Shadow, Phantoms, and Nacht-ghuls. Are they robots? Are they organic? Are they deeply unpleasant? Also out soon is the Van Saar Ash Wastes upgrade pack, containing 10 masked heads to protect their delicate little lungs and eyes from the ravages of the outdoors, as well as backpacks and high-tech doohickeys. Perfect for making sure no wasteland bugs get stuck in the teeth of your grav-cutter riders.
Both of these kits are made of resin, and will be available soon. The rules for the Mind-Locked Wyrd and Cephalopod Spektors are both contained in the House of Shadow supplement, while there are no rules for the Van Saar upgrades – they just look nice.
