Chop chop, hobbyists, we’re already two months into this year’s Armies on Parade and, with the New Year, New Army theme officially over, it’s time to get cracking on some big beasties. The grand finale is only nine months away, so it’s time to give our new armies something chunky to rally around.
What are Battlefield Behemoths? As the name suggests, they’re the biggest, scariest monsters to stalk the tabletop, everything from terrifying Hive Tyrants to lumbering dinosaurs. Many of last year’s winners featured at least one, so we want to challenge you to embrace largeness and get one painted by the end of April.
Anything up to the size of a Magmadroth is fair game – as long as it makes the ground tremble,* we want to see it.
Each theme is building up to the Armies on Parade awards show this November, and by following along you’ll have a force to be reckoned with by the time submissions open. Whatever you choose to build, make sure to show us your progress with the hashtag #ArmiesOnParade2022 across social media, so we can ogle your hobby skills.
Are you a trailblazer who’s already added a bunch of big guys to your army? You can get a head start on the next theme, Gods of War. We want to see the legends of your chosen faction, so soak up some divine inspiration and let your brush run wild.
* But not the God of Earthquakes – he has his own category coming later.
