Those brave and/or foolish gangs who venture into the depths of Hive Secundus know how essential it is to keep your eyes wide open and your head on a swivel, as the mutated xenos infesting the ruins can drop from the rafters at any moment. Gangers are decent enough at keeping watch for sneaky Genestealers, but for the final word in personal safety, sensible expeditionists trust in the indiscriminate automatic fire of a Trazior pattern sentry gun.
These defensive weapons are entirely automated and shoot at everything that moves within their firing arcs – friend or foe. This makes them extremely dangerous when deployed recklessly, as underhive gangs are wont to do, leading to many hives deeming them illegal with severe punishments for their trade and use.
Such laws are moot in Hive Secundus, however, where the sentry guns are highly prized. Lacking even the rudimentary intelligence of a servitor means they will fire without hesitation at the slightest provocation, though this often causes them to overheat and shut down. Luckily, the weapons have control panels that allow gangers to pause their firing protocols when allies are near.
Unlike regular fighters, Trazior pattern sentry guns are bought from the Trading Post and kept in a gang’s Stash until needed. They are commonly available with either twin grenade launchers or twin heavy stubbers, and any fighters who have deployed at the start of a battle can drop one down nearby.
However, gangs will have to consider their placement carefully, as the sentry guns cannot be moved once installed on the battlefield – only rotated to face a different firing arc.
Rules for the Trazior pattern sentry guns – and much more besides – will be found in an upcoming expansion book for Necromunda, so keep watch on Warhammer Community to find out more about it soon.
