With Warhammer Day coming up this Saturday, there are going to be lots of reasons to celebrate, from excellent pre-order releases, two fantastic Commemorative Series miniatures, and a massive reveal stream covering nearly every game system. We’ve already covered how to set up the perfect gaming day and now, with a bit of help from our friends, we’ve come up with a bunch of other cool stuff you can do alongside playing games of Warhammer.
1. Plan
Now that events are back on and time is at a premium again, it’s even more important to plan out your weekly Warhammer activity. Keep track of which events you’ll be attending throughout the year or when you’ll be catching up with friends for a game with Danilo’s official Warhammer 2022 Calendar, featuring art from popular Warhammer 40,000 factions.
2. Visit
Survive a tangle in the warp with up to four friends in Immaterium, the first official Warhammer 40,000 Escape Room. Check out our interview with one of the creators to see what you’re in for, then tackle the fiendish puzzles online from the comfort of your home or book your session to take on Immaterium in Nottingham.
3. Game
Grab some friends and immerse yourselves in a roleplay session set in one of Cubicle 7’s Warhammer RPGS, such as Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound, Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory or Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Each system also has a free downloadable adventure to get you started. You can also pick up additional introductory adventures such as Reap and Sow (releasing to local game stores on the 16th of October to celebrate Free RPG Day) and Feast of Blood (following to celebrate Halloween) from the Cubicle 7 online store.
4. Experience
Add some atmosphere to your games with Merchoid’s range of Warhammer 40,000 scented candles. Inhale the smells of Catachan Death World or distract your opponents with the scent of The Great Devourer whilst your Tyranid army consumes all before it! With six candles, you’ll have no trouble finding a delightful aroma to surprise your friends with at your next meetup.*
5. Watch
Grab your Nurgling Plush, make a brew in your favourite Warhammer mug, and get ready for some of next year's big video game releases by watching the latest trailers for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, Total War: Warhammer 3, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Blood Bowl 3, and Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus. When you’re finished with that, hop on over to Warhammer+ for even more great Warhammer coverage, including battle reports, painting guides, animations, and more!
6. Play
If you’re looking for your next video gaming fix, you can jump into any one of these officially licensed Warhammer video games, and take on other Warhammer players from around the globe. Kit out your ships in World of Warships with the latest Black Templars and Ork ship skins, commanders, and gear. Launch a zealous quest with the Black Templars in Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade. And face your friends on the battlefield in Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sector.
7. Wear
Prove you're a bigger Warhammer fan than your friends by turning up to your next meetup in some of the latest Warhammer-branded fashion. Whether it’s a T-shirt or hoodie from the official Warhammer Merch store, or if you’re in the US, an exclusive Warhammer design from Heroes & Villains, you’re sure to look the part. Alternatively, get into the festive spirit with one of Merchoid’s Warhammer-themed Christmas jumpers.
8. Read
Marvel’s Sisters of Battle comic has just released its third issue, meaning now is the perfect time to catch up with the action. Will Canoness Veridyan and her Sororitas be able to complete their mission and put down a full-scale heretical uprising on the planet Siscia? You’ll have to read the comic to find out, with exclusive covers available from the Warhammer online store for die-hard Sororitas fans. If you feel inspiration hit while reading, check out McFarlane Toys’ Adepta Sororitas Battle Sister action figure.
There’s no shortage of other ways to get involved on Warhammer Day, and these are just a few ideas. Let us know over on the Warhammer Community Twitter page what you’re going to be getting up to while you wait for the reveal stream to begin and how you’ll be celebrating all the new announcements.
