Deep in the darkness of the void, far past the edge of Imperial space, lies the Blackstone Fortress. This mysterious alien space station is the setting not only for the Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress game, but also a series of books exploring its secrets – the latest of which is coming your way soon.
Blackstone Fortress: Ascension by Darius Hinks is the final chapter in the tale that began in Blackstone Fortress and continued in the audio drama The Beast Inside. Like those previous instalments, it focuses on rogue trader Janus Draik. His adventures in the Blackstone Fortress and on Precipice – the station that acts as a waypoint for those who would venture into the darkness – have left him on the brink of dissolution. Disowned by his family, he faces an uncertain future… if he has one at all.
Draik’s fortunes are the least of his worries. Precipice is in peril, from within and without, as something in the Blackstone Fortress is creating geomagnetic storms. With this danger around them, the fragile alliance between the various humans, abhumans, and xenos inhabiting the station is breaking down. Only an expedition into the unexplored depths of the Blackstone Fortress can possibly save them – if these adventurers can work together long enough.
Draik must rally the explorers who call Precipice home and venture into the labyrinthine depths of the alien station one last time. What he’ll discover there will change his life forever, as a threat is uncovered not just to Precipice, but to the entire Imperium. Draik and his uneasy companions are the only ones who can stop it.
Blackstone Fortress: Ascension will be available to pre-order from this Saturday in English, German, and French editions. If you want to catch up on the story so far, you can download the eBook and MP3 of Blackstone Fortress and the MP3 of The Beast Inside right now and experience Draik’s many trials and tribulations.
