Add Flashy Flexibility to Your Aeldari Armies with a Band of Voidscarred Corsairs

Earlier this year the enigmatic Aeldari Corsairs arrived in the 41st Millennium* in the Kill Team: Nachmund boxed set. It wasn’t long before the updated Codex: Aeldari brought these debonair privateers to the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000.

These freelance Aeldari who have rejected the Paths,  and who are known as Anhrathe in their own tongue, make their own way across the cosmos taking on all comers.  And, in a galaxy of voracious monsters and Chaos champions, flexibility is the key to the Corsairs’ success – so much so that one box can make one of two different units – Troops or Elites.

Even low-ranking Corsairs display ostentatious wealth. These Voidreavers won’t leave home without their elegant power swords, a crucial counter to well-armoured infantry – and not bad for a Troops choice!

At a budget-friendly price of just 50 points for a basic squad of 5, they’re great for capturing isolated objectives while the main army tussles over the centre. If you need to slug it out in a more traditional firefight, they can swap their swords for long-ranged shuriken rifles and bury enemy hordes in a hail of razor-sharp discs. What’s more, they have both the Asuryani and Drukhari keywords, and can fight for either - and if that’s not flexible we don’t know what is!

Corsair Voidscarred, meanwhile, are every bit the band of versatile specialists we’ve seen in Kill Team. They fight nearly as well as Howling Banshees at a significantly lower points cost, while the inclusion of the psychic Way Seeker gives them access to some sorcerous trickery.

Either variety can equip a wide range of weapons to tackle whatever is between them and their booty, ranging from horrifying Drukhari shredders to warp-bending wraithcannons. Exactly how the Corsairs came across these weapons we can’t say, but whether they were gifted voluntarily or pilfered from the back of a passing Raider, they’re just as deadly in the hands of the Anhrathe.

Corsairs can make use of many Stratagems from either faction, such as activating Hunt From the Shadows or Lightning Fast Reactions to survive a vicious shooting attack.

With all of these tools at their disposal, a unit or two of Corsairs are a cheap, easy, and effective way to add versatility to your Aeldari and Drukhari armies. You can pre-order your own box right now – containing all the bits you need to make Corsair Voidscarred or Voidreavers – and if you missed Kill Team: Nachmund earlier this year, you can find everything you need to take them into tactical skirmish games with the standalone rulebook.

* For the third or fourth time – Aeldari Corsairs have been around since the early days.
