In the time before the Mortal Realms came to be, when umgi, elgi, and dawi called the World-that-Was home, there was a legendary Slayer whose might eclipsed all the mortals of the world. So great was his power, that not even the end of all things could fulfil his oath to die in battle, and when the madness of the End Times gave way to the Age of Sigmar he emerged once more to engage in his favourite pastime – killing monsters.
We’re talking, of course, about Gotrek Gurnisson. His adventures in the Mortal Realms began with the epic audio drama Realmslayer – starring Brian Blessed, no less – and although the tale became an instant classic it never quite reached the hallowed pages of a Black Library novel. Until now.
Realmslayer: Legend of the Doomseeker by David Guymer remixes all eight episodes of the awesome audio drama into a single full-length novel for the first time, recounting Gotrek’s awakening in the mysterious Mortal Realms. Now thrust into a new age of gods and immortals, the Slayer must contend with the loss of his entire world – and of his dearest friend – while navigating the perils of an unfamiliar land.
To celebrate the apotheosis of this narrative-defining tale, Realmslayer is getting the Limited Edition treatment it deserves. Bound in cloth with a faux-leather spine, the deceptively modest cover is debossed with runic details, titled in gold foil lettering, and crowned with a die-cast metal emblem of Gotrek himself.
It also comes with the trappings you’ve come to expect from a Black Library limited edition, including a bright orange ribbon page marker, full-colour illustration pages, and printed orange page edges. Then there’s a foreword by the author, and an additional short story: One, Untended. This is a collector’s item for the ages, and with only 1,250 individually numbered and signed copies available worldwide, it’s a crown jewel for your library of Warhammer Age of Sigmar fiction.*

* And a great way to complete your collection of Mortal Realms Gotrek novels.
