The library of excellent animations on Warhammer+ is about to get even larger, as today sees the first awesome episode of Pariah Nexus. We showed off the epic new trailer back in August, and if you’ve been itching to fight back against the Necron threat ever since, your wait is finally over.
The eyes of the galaxy may be turned to the Fourth Tyrannic War, but the Necrons are up to their old schemes in the sinister Pariah Nexus. This area of chillingly silent space was first seen in a cinematic trailer for Warhammer 40,000, and now we’re returning to the planet of Paradyce* to see how the battle unfolds.
We won’t say too much more – this is a series that you’ll definitely want to immerse yourselves in – but things can’t be all sunshine and roses when the notorious Cryptek Illuminor Szeras is involved. On the other hand, we already know that a Space Marine from the Salamanders Chapter is on the Imperial side, so the other human characters have a better chance of making it through than most…
Meanwhile, a brand new episode of Loremasters digs into the history of Illuminor Szeras and his ceaseless search for the mysteries of life itself. Even in the 41st Millennium, knowing your enemy is vital.**
Over at Citadel Colour Masterclass, our expert painters teach you how to achieve exactly the kinds of pallid skin tones you’d expect to see amidst the survivors of a Necron onslaught – though it’s equally good for faces of many kinds.
Today’s releases alone are already a great reason to be a Warhammer+ subscriber – never mind the back catalogue of animations, battle reports, and everything else – but we’re sweetening the pot even more this month. To celebrate the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on Xbox X|S on the 4th of October, subscribers will receive a free exclusive in-game portrait frame titled “Let the Hammer Speak!” and be entered to win an utterly astonishing trove of Darktide swag.
The prize includes an individually numbered steel presentation case – that you’ll need to unlock by fishing the key from a vat of Nurgle sludge*** – you’ll find a Darktide bomber jacket and t-shirt, a Nurgle scented candle, an Ogryn figure from McFarlane Toys, a selection of stickers, Fatshark socks, and a note from the game director.
Then, as if that weren’t enough, you’ll also snag the incredible collector’s edition soundtrack by Jesper Kydd on vinyl, a range of Darktide-themed hot sauces from Lou’s Brews, three more figures of characters from the game, two Darktide mouse mats from Razer, a Darktide scented candle to compliment the one from the box, and a commemorative coin. Phew.
All you need to do is be a Warhammer+ subscriber by the 4th of October, and you’ll be entered into the draw automatically.**** It’s as easy as that, and then you’ll have plenty of quality Warhammer shows to watch while you wait with bated breath. The best way to sign up is with an annual subscription, which gets you access to all this, plus a huge back catalogue of shows and animations, the Warhammer Vault, and your choice of two fantastic subscriber miniatures.
* Named for better times, perhaps.
