In the not-so-distant past, we revealed Urdesh: The Serpent and the Saint during a Warhammer Fest celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original Gaunt’s Ghosts novel. This epic series has grown much larger than Dan Abnett’s original vision, giving rise to a full-blown campaign known as the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.
Urdesh is just one of the many Sabbat Worlds, though it was vital to the war effort. The Serpent and the Saint centres around the Iron Snakes Space Marines, and it’s a spin-off to the rest of the Sabbat Worlds series, which mostly focuses on the Astra Militarum.
The book was a massive hit, but there was something we couldn’t tell you back then – the sequel was already nearly finished as the first book came out. We can now reveal its awesome new cover.
Picking up right where The Serpent and the Saint left off, the Space Marines of Damocles Squad must make some difficult decisions as they determine whether or not to trust the mercurial Living Saint. Matthew Farrer delivers plenty of pulse-pounding action, shedding more light on this grinding campaign from a different perspective.
You don’t have much longer to wait – if you’re looking for an excuse to set aside some time to read Urdesh: The Serpent and the Saint, this is it. Read it already? Let us know what you’re most excited about on the Black Library Facebook page.
