From Aqshy to Ghyran, the Dawnbringer Crusades are striking out. Leaving the relative safety of the Cities of Sigmar they come to reclaim territory lost to the perfidious forces of Chaos in ages past. We’ve already clapped eyes on the foot-slogging men-at-arms willing to put the sword to these barbaric usurpers, but there must be more than these warriors in the crusade?
What the Cities of Sigmar need are swift armoured cohorts to ride in the vanguard, smiting any who oppose the will of the Heldenhammer… Luckily, they have just that!
The Freeguild Cavaliers lead the charge against the enemies of Order. Decked out in ostentatious gear befitting their many victories and riding horses clad in detailed barding, they are a further glimpse at the wider aesthetic that defines the Cities of Sigmar. These are incredibly characterful and detailed miniatures - each a glimpse into the peoples and cultures under Sigmar’s banner.
With the Era of the Beast bringing its own challenges, these hard-hitting horsemen are equipped with an armoury of weapons to shatter the shield-walls of the swamp-dwelling Kruleboyz or pierce the armour of the hulking Chaos Warriors.
Their heavy armour and robust shields weather retaliation and provide ample real estate for each city’s heraldry and Sigmarite iconography. In essence, these are the classic knights of old, with a dash of God-King flair.
Compared to their predecessors from the World-that-Was, these Cavaliers are more baroque - resplendent with banners, crested helmets, and unusual details such as decorative high-rise cantles.*
The Cities of Sigmar are the gathering storm on the horizon, readying to drive back the murk of Chaos from the Mortal Realms.
