The cosmic alignment is at hand! Vashtorr and Abaddon’s plan is in motion and the Arks of Omen have been unleashed. In response, the many Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes have mobilised new Battleforces in this week’s pre-orders.
Arks of Omen: Abaddon
Take your Warhammer 40,000 battles into the interior of claustrophobic void ships in Arks of Omen: Abaddon. The first volume in the galaxy-quaking Arks of Omen series, this book sets the narrative as Vashtorr provides Abaddon with the means to raise his terrible Balefleets.
This book also contains the rules you’ll need to play Boarding Action games of Warhammer 40,000 – including how to muster your own Boarding Patrol. These small, claustrophobic battles are fought between specialised forces, using Boarding Action terrain across nine unique missions.
Arks of Omen: Abaddon (Collectors Edition)
You can also celebrate the dawning of a new era of shipboard combat with this Collectors’ Edition volume. It has an exclusive cover with full art of Abaddon the Despoiler, printed page edges, and a black ribbon marker.
Boarding Actions Terrain Set
Boarding Actions missions take place within the knotted insides of hulking void ships, where every corridor and room can hide a deadly threat. Build your own void ship to fight through with the Boarding Actions Terrain Set. This highly modular kit contains two double-sided gaming boards, as well as enough frames of terrain to make 68 individual pieces of Gallowdark terrain that you can configure in a wide range of combinations.
To get your Boarding Actions Terrain Set painted faster than you can say “Arks of Omen”, check out the Warhammer Painting Team’s top paint picks. Zandri Dust, Leadbelcher, Agrax Earthshade, Nihilakh Oxide, Screaming Skull, Troll Slayer Orange, and Lothern Blue will leave with you a lovely looking voidship board.
Chapter Approved – Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament Mission Pack
Outside the winding corridors of Boarding Actions, a new matched play season arrives to shake up the way you play. The new Arks of Omen Detachment unlocks fresh options for army construction, with other changes to create new strategic decisions in Chapter Approved: Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament Mission Pack.*
This book contains everything you need going into the new competitive season, including secondary objectives for every faction and missions for Strike Force and Incursion size games.

Even in death the Emperor's Adeptus Astartes still serve, and no Chapter is better suited to maintaining the curious machinery that powers the Redemptor Dreadnoughts than the Iron Hands. The March of Iron Strike Force contains two brutal war engines, 10 Intercessors, a Techmarine, and the famed Iron Father Feirros, along with two Iron Hands upgrade packs and transfer sheets to show the strength and certainty of steel.**
Salamanders: Warforged Strike Force
Few can withstand the might of the Salamanders’ flamestorm-wielding Aggressors and melta-armed Eradicators, especially when pinned by round after round of withering bolter fire from twenty Intercessors. This troop-heavy Warforged Strike Force is led by the mighty warrior Adrax Agatone, and also features four Salamander upgrade sprues and transfer sheets for outfitting your sons of Nocturne.**
White Scars: Storm of Chogoris
The mounted warriors of the White Scars promise their foes a swift and certain death. The Storm of Chogoris rides out on the hunt under the watchful eye of Kor'sarro Khan featuring six Outrider Bikes, two Invader ATVs, and a sermon-spitting Primaris Chaplain on Bike, with a White Scars upgrade frame and two transfer sheets for a sprinkling of Chogorian pride.**
Ultramarines: Scions of Macragge
Tactical flexibility is the aim of the Ultramarines, and the Scions of Macragge provides 10 high-powered Hellblasters, 10 reliable Intercessors, and three indomitable Bladeguard Veterans. They are led by the powerful Chief Librarian Tigurius, as well as Chapter Master Marneus Calgar and his two resolute Victrix Guard. Also included are two Ultramarine upgrade sprues and transfer sheets.**
Space Marine Heroes 2023 – Blood Angels Collection Two
Create a characterful Tactical Squad with part two of the Space Marine Heroes Blood Angels Collection. This is a set of six detailed push-fit Space Marine miniatures in red plastic, each with a textured rubble base and a choice of bare head or helmet. These six Space Marines are armed with a mix of weapons, and you can purchase them in stores in random blind packs – or if you want to guarantee getting the whole bunch in one go, you can pick up a stack of eight, including two duplicates.
Black Legion Dice Set
With a new influx of power from Vashtorr, the Black Legion now congregates in powerful Balefleets to scour the galaxy for the keys that will set the daemonic forgemaster’s plan in motion. Tip the odds in your favour with this Black Legion dice set which contains 15 dice coloured in swirled ashen black, with sinister golden pips and the Eye of Horus on the 6 face.**
All of these releases are available to pre-order on the Games Workshop webstore right now. Let us know what you pick up over on the Warhammer Community Twitter page.
* Note: The introduction to the Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament Mission Pack says that players start on a reduced 4 Command points now. This isn’t true. The rules section of the book is accurate – players start with 6 CP, regardless of mission size. We also say that we have made a change by making Dedicated Transports start with a unit inside – but this is a rule first introduced in Nephilim, and simply remains in place. We suspect these errors were caused by infiltration by Vashtorr’s techno-operatives, and have burned all of the Design Studio’s data stacks just to be sure.
** All four Space Marine Battleforces, and the Black Legion Dice Set are delayed slightly in Australia and New Zealand
