Kill Team thrives on its unique missions, and Into the Dark – available to pre-order this Saturday – is packed with ways to take advantage of the new space hulk setting.
The Gallowdark is the stage, forming twisting corridors from ancient walls and hatchways, and additional rules from Into the Dark litter it with interactive objects. Pipes, dynamos, and control panels feature in the rulebook’s nine missions, doing anything from venting oxygen to activating fuel lines.
The Airlocked mission tasks your kill teams with refilling their air tanks in a divided arena, where a handful of operatives have been trapped within a claustrophobic airlock. Points are awarded every time an operative performs the Syphon Oxygen action, requiring commanders to decide between completing objectives or fighting the enemies only an arm’s length away.
Wide-open spaces are an operative’s worst nightmare, but in the Deadly Hangar mission they’ll have to brave a cavernous room to collect valuable energy cells. Luckily, someone’s found the light switch, and a sudden plunge into darkness might just offer the cover your kill team needs to scoop up their spoils.
You won’t just find missions in the Into the Dark rulebook – Kill Team: Annual 2022 also comes packed with plenty to do.
Four kill teams play a deadly tug-of-war over central objectives in Secure Strategic Gains, set in a double-size killzone. The ability to push controlled objectives closer to your drop zone means it’s even more important to strike quickly, as an early lead can set teams up for an easier defence later.
The defenders’ defeat is inevitable in Final Transmission, from the Last Stand Mission Pack. All they can do is hold off the attackers – and their endless waves of operatives – for as long as possible, with an arsenal of booby traps at their disposal. How long can you last?
Plunge into deadly close-quarters missions when Kill Team: Into the Dark comes to pre-orders this Saturday.
