Every holiday season, a few chosen armies from Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar hit the shelves in our annual Battleforce bonanza. Today is the day they go up for pre-order, so if you’ve ever mused over starting an army of Adepta Sororitas, Ironjawz, or many others, this is the time – it’s rare you beat the value packed into these boxes.
Provisionally Prepared
This pair of diminutive death-dealers have been all over Warhammer Community in the last few weeks, and now it’s time to recruit them. This immensely characterful miniature is a wonderful diorama piece for your shelf – Astra Militarum army or not – and how often can you really say you get to paint a sniper rifle and a string of sausages at the same time? Please note that Provisionally Prepared is only available while stocks last.
Adepta Sororitas Battleforce: Penitent Crusade Host
Lead those poor souls who have failed before the Emperor’s eyes out on a mission of bloody redemption with this set of penitent-flavoured Adepta Sororitas units. The box contains a Ministorum Priest, two Penitent Engines (which can alternately be built as Mortifiers), nine Sisters Repentia and their Repentia Superior, 10 Arco-Flagellants, and two Adepeta Sororitas Rhinos. The box also comes with an Adepta Sororitas Transfer sheet which comprises 290 decals.
Imperial Knights Battleforce: Valourstrike Lance
The massive Questoris Knights are utterly terrifying to face alone, and even more so when surrounded by their Armiger retainers. The Valourstrike Lance Battleforce contains a Knight Paladin, which can also be built as a Knight Errant, and four Armigers buildable as either long-range Helverins or close-range Warglaives. This box also comes with an Imperial Knights Transfer sheet which features 647 decals.
Necrons Battleforce: Hypercrypt Legion
Why walk like your lowly legions of Necron Warriors when you can simply teleport around the battlefield at will? This is a question answered by the Overlord with Translocation Shroud leading the Hypercrypt Legion Battleforce, who is joined by a machine-warping C’tan Shard of the Void Dragon, 10 Triarch Praetorians (which can also be built as Lychguard), and 10 Necron Warriors accompanied by three Canoptek Scarab Swarms.
T'au Empire Battleforce: Retaliation Cadre
The T’au Empire are known for their masterful combined arms assaults that blend vehicles, infantry, and aircraft into a fluid battle plan, but sometimes you just need to give someone a good smack with some battlesuits. This Retaliation Cadre contains a Commander, a Riptide Battlesuit, a Ghostkeel Battlesuit, and a Broadside Battlesuit, all with their own complement of specialist drones. The box also comes with a T’au Empire Transfer sheet which features 225 decals.
Dark Angels Battleforce: Inner Circle Task Force
The Lion is back, and he has 10,000 years of pent-up anti-Chaos rage to make up for. The Primarch of the Dark Angels takes to the field with his Inner Circle Task Force – an elite brotherhood of warriors that comprises a Chaplain in Terminator armour, six mysterious Inner Circle Companions, and 10 Deathwing Knights. This box also comes with a Dark Angels transfer sheet containing 217 transfers.
Ironjawz Battleforce: Wrekkamob
The Ironjawz exemplify the simple love of brutality and violence that orruks are known for, strapping thick armour plates to their already resilient hides and wading into battle with choppas a-swinging. Six Weirdbrute Wrekkaz (which can also be built as Brute Ragerz) are joined 20 Ardboyz, led by a rampaging Tuskboss on Maw-grunta that can instead be built as a Maw-grunta with Hakkin’ Krew or a Maw-Grunta Gouger.
Flesh-eater Courts Battleforce: Charnelgrand Jury
The rule of law is paramount in the Summerking’s lands, but when crimes are abundant, and most sentences involve being eaten by the jury… well, you’re in Grand Justice Gormayne’s court. The good judge himself leads his ravenous arbitrators from the front, flanked by six Morbheg Knights, 10 Cryptguard, and six Crypt Horrors (which can alternately be built as winged Crypt Flayers).
Cities of Sigmar Battleforce: Founding Foray
The Dawnbringer Crusades still plunge out into the Mortal Realms on perilous journeys of settlement, hoping to one day found a brand new city in the name of Sigmar. All of the smart ones have a sizable military force protecting their vulnerable pioneers, like this Founding Foray – a Freeguild Command Corps, 10 Freeguild Fusiliers, an Ironweld Great Cannon, and a Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk – led by an experienced Freeguild Marshal and their Relic Envoy.
Maggotkin of Nurgle: Shudderblight Cyst
The Poxfather cares for all of his kin, even if they have frankly revolting names like the Shudderblight Cyst.* This gruesome band of corpulent warriors is led by a chilling Harbinger of Decay, who is joined by five Putrid Blightkings, 10 Rotmire Creed, and four Pusgoyle Blightlords – one of which in each pair can be built as a Lord of Affliction.
Eisenhorn: Malleus – Illustrated and Annotated Edition
Relive the epic adventures of Eisenhorn – perhaps the most famous Inquisitor of them all – in a brand new edition of his classic tale Malleus penned by Dan Abnett. This illustrated and annotated edition features five new pieces of art by Tazio Bettin, plus author commentary throughout the book and a new afterword.
Be warned: this will only be available while stocks last.
Skaventide
The almighty Vermindoom has blasted enormous chunks out of the Realm of Fire and spread the corruption of warpstone across the Great Parch. Only the Stormcast Eternals of the Ruination Chamber can stand to fight within the sickly green glow of the Skaven’s precious mineral, and so it falls to them to push back against the verminous horde – especially when a lost Stormcast deep within the hellish zone holds information that could end the war before it consumes Aqshy.
Skaventide by Gary Kloster is available to pre-order now in paperback.
The Ghosts of Barak-Minoz
Spoiler alert: Drekki Flynt is in trouble once again. This time though, it’s a former crewman, once thought dead, that has drawn the intrepid Kharadron adventurer back into a life of danger and derring-do, and assassins from Ulgu aren’t far behind. The famed treasure city of Barak-Minoz is out there somewhere, and Flynt is determined to find it in The Ghosts of Barak-Minoz by Guy Haley, available to pre-order now in paperback.
Da Red Gobbo Collection
Who is da Red Gobbo, and is he truly a revolutionary hero for all of gretchinkind? Or just a jumped-up grot with delusions of grandeur? Find out in this madcap collection of zany audiobooks charting many of the Gobbo’s greatest adventures, including Da Gobbo’s Revenge by Mike Brooks, Da Gobbo’s Demise and Da Wrong Type of Green by Denny Flowers, and Da Gobbo Rides Again and The Instigator by Rhuairidh James.
Wolf’s Honour
It’s safe to say the Thousand Sons and the Space Wolves have a bit of a rivalry – what with one of them blowing the others’ homeworld to smithereens – and the latest foray finds Wolf Lord Ragnar Blackmane and a handful of his brothers right in the path of a Thousand Sons assault. Can they find the legendary Spear of Russ before the nefarious Madox ends the Young Wolf’s saga for good? Find out in Lee Lighter’s novel Wolf’s Honour, now available to pre-order in audiobook format.
* Yeah, the studio really knocked it out of the park with that one.
