Get into the Gloomspite Gitz with four brilliant books from Black Library

The Gloomspite Gitz dwell in deep, dank caverns all across the Mortal Realms. Ordinarily furtive opportunists whose strength lies entirely in their numbers, this all changes when the Bad Moon passes across the heavens, whipping the teeming grots into a frenzy, nuisances becoming a threat that cannot be ignored.

Now, with the Gitmob rampaging across the eight realms in an attempt to extinguish the Glareface Frazzlegit once and for all, it’s time to learn more about these craven but crazed creatures with a good nose through some Black Library titles.

Like the rest of his kind, the (functionally) immortal duardin Gotrek holds a deep hatred of grots. His ire was forged in the World-that-Was, and it has not become dulled in the Mortal Realms. In Darius Hinks’ Gitslayer, the Kharadron Overlords of Barak-Urbaz offer Gotrek the chance to extract the Fyreslayer Rune from his chest, he quickly takes them up on it, but the grots have other plans and he must quest deep into the mycelial domain of Skragrott’s Asylum to save his kin.

The Kharadron don’t seem to have much luck with the Gloomspite Gitz, and in Grombrindal: Ancestor’s Burden by Chris Thursten, the sky-city of Barak-Thryng somehow gets between the frothing grot hordes and the lure of the Bad Moon. Luckily Grombrindal, the legendary White Dwarf, appears just in the nick of time – though he has other problems to contend with. The Oathbreakers are in tow, looking to get the curse of the Ancestor’s Burden lifted from one of their number… and there’s the whiff of change in the air.

For unrepentant worshippers of the Bad Moon, Andy Clark has written two novels. Gloomspite takes place in and below the city of Draconium in the scalded realm of Aqshy. As the Bad Moon looms above, it’s down to Watch Captain Helena Morthan and Hendrcik Saul to defend the city from – oh who are we kidding, all we’re here to read about is how much chaos and destruction Skragrott the Loonking can get away in order to please the Bad Moon.

Not every grot is as fearsome or awe-inspiring as Skragrott, and Zograt is a particularly puny specimen – a runt born with a gammy leg. Despite his unfortunate beginnings in life, the Bad Moon took a particular shine to him and rewarded him with the Clammy Hand – and with it the means to climb to the top of the Loonboss piles. With his loyal Troggoth Skrog at his side, Zograt has his sights set on the gloom-shrouded mountain of Muttering Peek as the seat of his power and all that stands between are a bunch of backstabbing grots and a sinister coven of wizards who have laid claim to mountain… You can find out how it all goes down in Bad Loon Rising.

All these novels are available now, and the Gitmob Army Set will be up for pre-order tomorrow. Why not invest in an audiobook or two for when you’re building and painting your new force?
