Studio Interview: Designing the Tyranids in the New Leviathan Boxed Set

The tendrils of Hive Fleet Leviathan are coiling around the galactic west. It’s a dinner rush so monumental that it felt churlish not to name the launch box for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 after these extragalactic predators.

In preparation for their onslaught, the Hive Mind has been spawning new bioforms and dredging deep through its unfathomable genetic memory to breathe new life into old archetypes. Here’s what the designers behind this swarm of teeth, claws, and chitin had to say.

There’s no warm embrace of nostalgia quite like the four-armed hug of a Screamer-Killer… just mind those sharp edges. Spotting all of the natural influences on these chimeric beasts is enough to keep anyone occupied until Leviathan lands in their laps.
