Warhammer Preview – The Hive Fleet Births Beautiful New Battleline Beasties

Termagants and Hormagaunts flood the battlefields of the worlds the Hive Mind has targeted for consumption, a swarming press of bodies that frequently prevails through sheer weight of numbers.

We’ve already seen new push-fit Termagants, as well as specialised Barbgaunts and Neurogaunts included with the Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan box, but now Termagants and Hormagaunts are receiving brand new sets of their own.

Hormagaunts hurtle towards their enemies with an exuberance that would be infectious if they didn’t have a pair of razor-sharp scything talons stretched out ahead of them.

This redesign conveys the bounding motions of the Hormagaunt swarm, creating the appearance of an undulating tide of rabid little killers.

Termagants are the closest thing the Tyranids have to a line trooper, though not much in the hive fleet maps accurately onto the military structure of the rest of the armies in the 41t Millennium.

They fight in great hordes armed with symbiotic bio-weapons, each a horrendous amalgam of organic function and living weapon. The full Termagant kit includes a wide range of weapons – fleshborerers, spinefists, devourers, shardlaunchers, stranglewebs, and spike rifles. Now that’s a wargear selection we haven’t seen for many, many years.*

* You might remember them from the second edition Tyranid codex, when everything was a little more… kaleidoscopic.

Escape back to the Warhammer Preview hub to see more new Tyranid miniatures before this relentless swarm overruns your senses.
