LVO Preview 2025 – Minka Lesk and Maleneth Witchblade square up with new miniatures

At the height of last year’s World Championships of Warhammer, we revealed a new slate of Black Library novels including Hell’s Last, the next story in the saga of Cadian hero Minka Lesk.

What we didn’t tell you, though, is that her next adventure isn’t just confined to the pages of a book – following in the footsteps of Callis and Toll and the Blacktalons, Lesk and her closest allies are making their way to the tabletop with a new plastic kit ready for this year’s Black Library Celebration.

Captain Lesk and her veteran command squad make up the figureheads of the Cadian 101st – nicknamed Hell’s Last – with an eclectic mix of characters picked up from across her many missions. Grawnya Ironbrow, first seen in Shadow of the Eighth, joins Veteran Trooper Jaromir and Commissar Shand, while the seventh company’s standard is carried by Confessor Talbeas in a remarkable departure from standard Astra Militarum doctrine.

Minka herself makes her second appearance in plastic, depicted as a more experienced commander than in her previous incarnation. The squad is an excellent collector’s piece for fans of the Astra Militarum and their novels, and can also be used in casual games of Warhammer 40,000 with an upcoming Legends datasheet.

The regiment find themselves pushing through a deadly jungle in Hell’s Last by Justin D Hill, determined to break a siege that threatens to wipe their illustrious record from the galaxy as the Gallows Cluster buckles under enemy assault. It may just be the most difficult mission of Lesk’s career, and the fate of the entire campaign rests on the battle-worn Cadians under her command.

She’s not the only one stepping from the page to plastic either, as the long-suffering companion of Gotrek, the legendary Slayer, joins her new solo novel Shade of Khaine by Evan Dicken. Say hello to Maleneth Witchblade, in the flesh.

The sinister aelven assassin has her former allies in the Order of Azyr hot on her heels, but still has the time to send her foes screaming off to Shyish – especially when her coven is found scattered in the formerly devout Khainite stronghold Nightcliff. This commemorative miniature is a must-have collector’s piece for fans of the Daughters of Khaine and Warhammer Age of Sigmar novels alike and goes great next to the awesome Gotrek Gurnisson miniature.

Both sets will be released to coincide with the Black Library Celebration, which kicks off next month starting with a week's worth of exciting coverage here on Warhammer Community ahead of pre-order. There will be special celebrations in Warhammer stores when the miniatures and books go on sale.

There are plenty of other reveals from the Las Vegas Open, which can be found at the preview hub.
