Warhammer Day Preview – Praise the Dark Gods with a new battletome, sorcerer, and Spearhead

Warhammer Day is here, and if you’re a follower of the worst religion* in the Mortal Realms, and haven’t yet been reduced to gore on the steps on the Path to Glory, get out those eight-pointed pennants – this one’s for you.

The forces of Chaos have a stranglehold on the Mortal Realms, one that’s tightening by the minute as the Darkoath Tribes and newly emboldened Skaven threat run riot in the Hour of Ruin, and the next battletome will turn up the dial even further…

Archaon, Be’lakor, and all manner of ambitious Chaos Lords get their prayers to the Dark Gods answered with Battletome: Slaves to Darkness. This 128-page tome isn’t quite a sentient grimoire that promises to elevate you to daemonhood, but it’s your chief weapon against the forces of Order, Death, and Destruction in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

Tzarketh, Bane of Law might be this year’s Warhammer Day miniature, but there’s also another brand new Chaos Sorcerer Lord miniature to accompany the new battletome.

Slaves to Darkness Sorcerer Lord

Outfitted in modern Slaves to Darkness style, with rugged gear that leans a little more shamanic than scholarly, the Chaos Sorcerer Lord is a mage who lives for battle. There are two head options – a grinning skull face mask and a more traditional horned helm, as well as two options for the head of the sorcerer staff.

The barbarian tribes are descending from the mountains and sweeping across the lands with a new Spearhead boxed set that’s all rippling muscles, perfectly pomaded hair, and rugged furs.

A Darkoath Warqueen is the powerhouse in charge of the Darkoath Raiders, a new Spearhead with rules in Battletome: Slaves to Darkness. She commands a contingent of 10 Darkoath Marauders into combat to fulfil bloody oaths to their dark masters, supported by 10 Darkoath Savagers, and five Darkoath Fellriders to run down their foes with reckless abandon.

This becomes the second Spearhead for the Slaves to Darkness, whose Bloodwind Legion is already covered in the Fire and Jade book from Skaventide. Rules for the new Spearhead will be available to download from Warhammer Community when the Battletome is released.

We’ll be covering the contents of the battletome closer to release. Head on over to the Warhammer Day preview hub to see the rest of today’s reveals.
