The agents of House Delaque are feared for their stealth and subtlety, though no-one knows the source of their uncanny ability to communicate without sound or movement – the Psychoterica. This unknowable force grants strange powers bordering on the psychic to all Delaque exposed to it, and none show as great a connection to this mysterious energy as the infamous bounty hunter Yageloth, the Master of Whispers.
Unlike most of those touched by the Psychoterica, Yageloth is a full-blown psyker of awesome power, whose connection to the Silent Ones allows him to transcend the physical plane and become one with the shadows. He is a living embodiment of the force that connects all true Delaque, having gained his abilities on a foolhardy venture to the source of the Silent Ones’ whispers.
Though previously thought impossible, Yageloth’s survival proved such a journey could be made, though the transformation he underwent has perhaps divorced him from humanity entirely. Now known as the Master of Whispers, his every utterance can break the minds of lesser mortals, while those more useful alive find the truths they hold so dear warped by a mere suggestion.
All House Delaque gangs can call upon Yageloth, for despite his ascendant state, he is still a bounty hunter with credits to earn. Many gangs report that the Master of Whispers simply appears to do the bidding of his House before disappearing again almost immediately, leaving shell-shocked foes and confused allies in his wake.
In combat, he’s more inclined to use his psychic abilities to crush, confound, and coerce opposing gangers from the shadows, but he’s perfectly capable of direct combat. The vicious psychoteric blade he carries phases through reality itself to score vital hits that wrack his prey with toxins, even before the five Wyrd Powers he possesses do any boosting of their own.
Should any fighter be lucky enough to score a hit on Yageloth, the bounty hunter simply slips into the shadows and reappears moments later behind one of his allies. Furthermore, poisons and other sinister weapons have no effect on his incorporeal form either, rendering him extremely difficult to conclusively defeat.
Cast in Forge World resin, the Master of Whispers will be coming to an underhive near you later this year.
