Phoenix Lords and Aspect Warriors painted by the wider Warhammer Hobby Community

As one of the classic Warhammer 40,000 factions for over three decades now, the Aeldari have accrued a vast legion of followers. Their timeless aesthetic matching elegant armour and weapons with bold and saturated colours makes them popular for painters of all levels, and so we sent the new Phoenix Lords and Aspect Warriors out into the community. Here’s what we got back – thanks to everyone who took part.

The arrival of a new Phoenix Lord is a reason to celebrate, and more than any other miniature, our community hobbyists chose to paint Lhykhis, the Whispering Web in droves. First up we have Spencer Stone, Ryan Allen, Quipster, Adrian Phillips, May Herrington from Goonhamer and Alison Kersley’s individual takes on the Phoenix Lord of the Warp Spiders.

She caught six more painters in her wicked web, the unique combination of weapons and coruscating Warp energy weave clearly appealing to dedicated hobbyists Fletcher Giles, Chris Frosin, Chloe Ratcliffe, Brian Levya from Tabletop Titans, Kieran Wilson and Amy Snuggs.

Warp Spiders followed in her wake, an upgrade to a classic kit proving too tempting to pass up by many. Andy Wardle from Cult of Paint, Alison Kersley, Adrian Phillips, Jennie Ruskin, Fletcher Giles. May Herrington and Vincent Knotley treat us to a swarm of different coloured Aspect Warriors.

If Lhykhis and her Warp Spiders were the most popular, then the scorching Fuegan and his heavily-armoured Fire Dragons were second. Fuegan himself attracted some stunning paint jobs, rich reds and vibrant oranges providing a palette for Tiffany Cosset, Murray Maud from Tabletop Time, Juan Sanz aka Elminiaturista, Fletcher Giles, Christine Coram and Adrian Phillips.

The bright colours and flame motifs of the Fire Dragons also inspired a selection of painters to provide some scorching examples of these Dragon fusion-gun wielding Aspect Warriors. Here’s what Thibaut Rahm, Jon Gómez, Jamie Cordwell, Fletcher Giles and Colin Ward got up to.

Youngest of the Phoenix Lords but no less glorious, Baharroth cuts an impressive figure, soaring high above his comrades. Kerry Malia, Chrissie Orton, Chris Pike, and Em Durrant, show us just how good he can look when riding thermals.

With their elegant flying poses and wide wings, the Swooping Hawks are a painter’s delight, and Richard Grey, Chrissie Orton, Tim Linward and Vincent Knotley have painted a lovely flock.

The first of the Phoenix Lords, but last in our painting round-up, the new Asurmen miniature is all bold shapes and clean lines—perfect for painters to test themselves against, which is exactly what Adam R from Siege Studios and Brian Levya did.

All of the Phoenix Lords and Aspect Warriors displayed above are available for pre-order tomorrow – what colour will you paint yours? Let us know on social media.
