Saturday Pre-orders – Return to The Old World and Necromunda With New Releases

We’re exploring deep and dark places with this week’s pre-orders, as we visit Hive Secundus on Necromunda and the glorious mountain holds of the Dwarfs in Warhammer: The Old World.

The Book of Desolation

Hive Secundus is a scar on the surface of Necromunda, destroyed by orbital weaponry when news of the Genestealer infestation there got out. Now deep within its ruins lay unimaginable treasures lost to time, a tempting bounty for any gang willing to risk its skin against the twisted Malstrain Genestealers who make it their nest.

You can take your own gangs and explore the depths with the new 144-page Necromunda expansion The Book of Desolation, which adds to the ongoing narrative of Necromunda and introduces brand new rules. Build Secundan Incursion gangs to plunder the Underhells, defend your turf as Malstrain or Malstrain Corrupted Gangs, or take your rightful place as the apex predators of House Helmawr with Spyre Hunter Gangs.

Full rules for Underhells campaigns are underpinned by Underhells scenarios, rules for Abyssal Ferryman Teams that offer assistance to aspiring plunderers, new Dramatis Personae, Custom Rigs using the Cargo-8 Ridgehauler chassis, and the Trazior Pattern Sentry Gun. You can pre-order it now in hardback or eBook formats.

Van Saar Tek-hunters

The rich wealth of archaeotech deep within the Underhells is of great interest to House Van Saar, whose technological superiority is well known on Necromunda. The Van Saar Tek-hunters are specialists who are perfect additions to Secundan Excursion gangs, and this set contains eight of them – two Gunteks, two Augurteks, two Bioteknists, and two Teknomats. Each pair can be built with their own special gear or in a standard loadout with basic weapons.

Malstrain Genestealer Abomination Gang

Throughout the Underhells, Malstrain Genestealers stalk their prey. These twisted horrors result from genetic tampering by the long-dead Heretek Magos Biologis Hermiatus and the lingering effects of the weapons used to crush Hive Secundus.

You can take on the role of these deadly predators with the Malstrain Genestealer Abomination Gang set, which contains six Malstrain Genestealers alongside four Malstrain Tyramites. The sprues also contain Malstrain Brood Scum heads which you can combine with other bodies to fill out your ranks.

Orrus Spyre Hunters

Boredom comes regularly to the pampered scions of House Helmawr, and while they get their kicks scheming to string up their kith and kin, often only the thrill of the hunt can sate their bloodthirst. To embark on a hunt is to undergo extensive body modifications to don a high-tech hunting rig – a mark of pride amongst the nobles.

Orrus Spyre Hunters wear the largest and most formidable of these rigs, which are kitted out with devastating armaments and provide excellent durability in the field. This set builds two Orrus Spyre Hunters with a choice of weapon and head options, and also comes with a Caryatid Prime – a strange winged creature that is seen as a sign of good luck should it take a liking to someone.

Malcadon, Yeld & Jakara Spyre Hunters

Nobles who prefer to battle with a little more finesse to show off their skills on hunts may choose to become Malcadon, Yeld & Jakara Spyre Hunters. Each suit is focused on a particular style of combat – the Malcadon attacks savagely with paired claws and a grapple launcher, the Jakara uses combat blades and mirror shield for a duellists approach, while the Yeld utilises ranged weapons and wings to harry opponents from afar.

This box builds one of each, and a Spyre Hunt Master who can mix and match weapons from various suits to their heart’s content.

Trazior Pattern Sentry Guns

Deep in the Underhells, where Malstrain Genestealers seemingly appear out of the shadows to gut their prey, Trazior Pattern Sentry Guns are almost a necessity. Due to their programming causing them to indiscriminately fire on anyone or anything, they are perfect for seeking targets in the pitch dark, but are consequently banned from use in Hive Primus.

This set builds two sentry guns with twin grenade launchers, two with twin heavy stubbers, and two ammo crates and control consoles.

Yageloth, the Master of Whispers

The shadowy House Delaque has its fair share of operatives, but few are as terrifyingly skilled as Yageloth, the Master of Whispers. Embodying the will of the mysterious Silent Ones, Yageloth is able to melt into the shadows themselves making him a perfect assassin, especially when equipped with his deadly psychometric blade. Rules for this miniature can be found in the House of Shadows and he is supplied in Forge World resin.

Hive Secundus Gang Tactics Cards

Fighting in the Underhells requires gangs to get a handle on a new slate of strategies to survive, and with the Hive Secundus Gang Tactics Cards, you’ll be well equipped at the tabletop. This set contains 26 cards – 18 gang Hive Secundus gang tactics cards, plus four blank Fighter cards and four blank Vehicle cards to keep your gangs in order.

Spyre Hunting Party Gang Tactics Cards

Progression for a Spyre Hunter requires racking up a substantial kill count, and the Spyre Hunting Party Gang Tactics Cards allow you to focus on the problems in front of you (targets to be killed) and how to solve them (application of extreme force) without needing to dig through your books. This set of 26 cards contains 18 gang tactic cards for your Spyrer gang, plus eight blank Fighter cards to keep track of your bloodthirsty nobility.*

Dwarf King with Oathstone

Some Dwarf Kings lead their throngs in battle while held aloft by shieldbearers, while others prefer something just a little sturdier, and survey battles from atop Oathstones inscribed with runes that cover their many lists, deeds, and triumphs. From his (relatively) lofty station, the Dwarf King with Oathstone inspires his allies and issues challenges to any opponents who he deems worthy.

Dwarf Slayer of Legend

Slayers are Dwarfs who have suffered a terrible failure, devoting themselves to a life of self-imposed exile and only uniting to charge into battle with axes in hand to seek doom at the hands of a worthy foe. You can represent the mightiest of these warriors – the Daemon Slayers and Dragon Slayers – with the Dwarf Slayer of Legend miniature wielding two axes, no doubt leaping right into the jaws of some terrible beast to hack it in two.

Dwarf Miners

The Dwarfs have many years of experience building, and fighting in, tunnels and halls deep beneath the earth. When the throng goes to war, Dwarf Miners frequently accompany it, ready to lend a pickaxe or blasting charge to the proceedings. This box contains 20 Dwarf Miners with a command group, four miner’s carts, and a new Dwarfen Mountain Holds transfer sheet with 342 transfers.

Dwarf Cannon & Organ Gun

The ingenious Dwarfen engineers have created a number of powerful artillery weapons to counter their enemies, including the Dwarf Cannon and Organ Gun. The former is a long-ranged weapon ideal for taking down heavier targets or scattering regiments, while the latter is specialised in mowing down enemies with its array of barrels. This plastic kit contains everything you need to build two war machines, either as Cannons or Organ Guns, and also contains six crew members and various optional accessories.

Dwarf Gyrocopters

Amongst the most advanced technology available to the Dwarfen Mountain Holds are the Dwarf Gyrocopters. Capable flying machines, gyrocopters swoop over battlefields to provide air support, while the heftier gyrobomber devastates units with its payload of explosives. This box builds two wonderful Dwarfen flying machines and contains a Dwarfen Mountain Holds transfer sheet with 342 decals.

Ogdruz Swampdigga Da Troll Calla

An oddity amongst his kin, Ogdruz Swampdigga Da Troll Calla is an Orc like no other, thanks to his curious alliance with the Trolls. By wearing the flayed skin of one and remaining close proximity to them, he has taken on their regenerative properties and the ability to cast their strange magics. With these peculiar powers, he leads armies of Trolls from out of the swamps to crush his enemies. This miniature has rules in Arcane Journal: Orc & Goblin Tribes, and is made of Forge World resin.
