Sunday, 23:30
With the last roll of the dice completed, we can finally see the country rankings for the very first World Championships of Warhammer.
For Warhammer Underworlds, Canada took the top spot, followed by Spain in second and the United States in third.
In Kill Team, Spain came out triumphant, ahead of Poland and the United States.
The top country for Warhammer Age of Sigmar was France - their place secured in dramatic fashion with the very last roll of the World Championships by Nicolas Tassone. In second place was the United States, and third was England.
In Warhammer 40,000, the top country was the United States, followed by England and Germany.
But the overall country bragging rights are what we're all interested in, right?
In third place overall was England, and in second was France; but taking the top spot for the inaugural World Championships of Warhammer was the United States.
Sunday 23:00
Warhammer Community caught up with Nicolas Tassone just after he raised his trophy as World Champion of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Nicolas fought his way through the Redemption track of the double elimination Championship Bracket to secure his win, playing 12 games of Warhammer over four days.
He said: "I'm tired, but very happy. I loved the event. Every game was a challenge, which is what you want, and all my opponents were really great on the table and outside. The event has been just great for me."
Sunday, 22:20 - Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champion!
We finally have a World Champion for Warhammer Age of Sigmar! The title was taken by France's Nicolas Tassone.
In a marathon sudden-death reset Grand Final which stretched on until after 10pm, Nicolas was able to defeat England's Tom Mawdsley.
The game appeared to be going in favour of Nicolas until the end of the fourth turn, when fortune turned in favour of Tom, when he was able to kill Archmage Teclis unexpectedly, and then win priority into the fifth turn.
But Nicolas fought back in the face of adversity and secured a well-deserved and long-fought victory.
The crucial result not only secured glory for Nicolas, but also his country - catapulting France to the top of the rankings for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and securing them second place in the overall rankings after the United States of America.
Sunday, 21:00
The action is STILL not over here in Atlanta. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar Grand Final between Tom Mawdsley of England and France's Nicolas Tassone is still raging on.
There's crowds of hardy World Championship players watching on, hours after their own games finished, to see this final game reach its conclusion.
Sunday, 20:30
Warhammer Community spoke to newly crowned Kill Team World Champion
Aleksa Pavkovic, who fought back after an initial loss to claim the trophy and nine World Championship Points for Australia. He said: "It's fantastic – I'm tired, and it's been a challenging journey, but I met a lot of awesome people and played some great games. Kill Team is in a really great place right now, and although the final was a Cultist mirror match, I don't think there's any inherent lean towards one team or another. Almost all of them are competitively valid, and the high level of play here is really what decided who won each match.
"I hope that this Championship spurs more players to get involved so we have even bigger tournaments in future. Bigger brackets will make it even more exciting, and I'd love to see Kill Team grow more as a result."
Sunday, 20:00
We caught up with new Warhammer 40,000 Best General Mani Cheema after his Final victory.
He told Warhammer Community: "It feels absolutely incredible to have won, I feel so proud. I love the game, and I really love the event. The World Champs have been incredible - I played someone from South Korea for the first time in my life.
"John was a very worthy opponent. We played three times, and all fantastic games. My heart in the second one when he drew the only card in the deck that would give him enough points to draw with me, then made that crucial charge. The dice gods definitely wanted us to play that extra game."
Sunday, 19:20 - Warhammer 40,000 Champion!
BREAKING NEWS - We have a World Champion for Warhammer 40,000 - England's Mani Cheema.
Mani defeated USA's John Lennon in a nail-biting Final refight. The players called the game in the fourth turn after Mani's Victory Point lead became unsurmountable.
It was the pair's third battle in two days, with Mani winning in the second round of the Championship Bracket. John heroically fought his way through the Redemption track, playing late into the night on Saturday and starting early on Sunday.
John then defeated Mani in their first Final, triggering a rematch in the double-elimination bracket. But Mani had the upper hand in the refight, taking the crown of Best Warhammer 40,000 General at the inaugural World Championships of Warhammer.
Sunday, 18:30
There have been some incredible armies on display at the World Championships of Warhammer.
This stunning Adepta Sororitas army is the work of Marshall Reeves, who came third for Best Painted in Warhammer 40,000.
He told Warhammer Community: "It's awesome to have everyone gather around the army, looking at the details; people running across the room to take photos mid-game. It's been so cool."
He added: "I chose a colour scheme I liked. I like lighter colours so I can shade them down. It lets me do a lot more detail, adding scripts, logos and murals.
"I went with Sisters of Battle because I've always loved the lore. I've wanted to play them for many many years. When the plastic models came out, I jumped right in and played them through 9th edition and into 10th now. I like everything about them."
Sunday, 17:30 - Kill Team Champion!

Sunday, 16:20 - Warhammer 40,000 Grand Final in thrilling last-roll reset
The Warhammer 40,000 Grand Final between John Lennon and Mani Cheema is going to a rematch after a thrilling last roll of the dice.In an indescribably tense last turn, John's Ultramarines had to destroy a Chaos Rhino to secure enough Victory Points to win. Needing an 11" charge, Uriel Ventris and his Company Heroes rolled a 12 and just barely managed to destroy the heretic vehicle. As Mani was previously undefeated in this double elimination bracket, the finalists will now need to play one more game to decide the ultimate victor, and who will lift the Best General trophy.
Sunday, 16:00
After a herculean effort across four days of competition,
Aman Khusrotriumphed in Warhammer Underworlds and been crowned World Champion. We caught up with Aman after his incredible win.He said: "I am mentally drained and exhausted, but very happy – I had such a great time playing the game I love this weekend.
"If you're ever on the fence or interested in playing Warhammer Underworlds, please give it a go. In my opinion, it's the most competitive and exciting Warhammer game there is – it's really tactile, quick, and great fun to play."I would not be here if not for the Warhammer Underworlds community in both the United States and around the world, and I really hope more people start playing in the future."
Sunday, 15:00
The World Bracket of the World Championships of Warhammer is now finished, and the final points are being collated. We won't have the final country standings until the final games in the Championship Bracket have been completed, but things are still on a knife-edge at the top.

It's a nail-biting finish!

Will Alberto reverse his fortunes to claim Best General, or will history repeat itself?
Sunday, 11:30
Victory in today's final Worlds Bracket game will grant some Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar players a medal in the final Awards Ceremony if they won all three of their games across Saturday and Sunday, depending on their record in the previous Pools stage. The Worlds Bracket players were matched into subgroups based on their number of wins, meaning each battle has been a gruelling test against players of equivalent skill. Chalking up three wins is a monumental achievement.
The best performances in the Worlds Bracket will also be awarded plenty of World Championship Points for their country.
Sunday, 10:30 - Warhammer Underworlds Finalists revealed
BREAKING NEWS - Cyril Deneux of France has won the Warhammer Underworlds Redemption track playoff, defeating Canadian Steven Painter. Cyril will now face the USA's Aman Khusro in the Grand Finale.
Sunday, 10:20 - Warhammer Age of Sigmar Finalists revealed
BREAKING NEWS - France's Nicolas Tassone has defeated England's Phil Marshall in the Redemption track playoff. It means that Nicolas' Lumineth Realm-lords will take on the Skaven of England's Tom Mawdsley.
Sunday, 09:00
It's another hour until the last Worlds Bracket game kicks off, but some of the Championship Bracket players were up early.
The only people rolling dice in the main hall at the moment are those in the Redemption track deciders for each game system. These players have all lost one game in the bracket, but have battled back from the brink. The winners will go on into the Grand Final - scheduled to start at midday.
Sunday, 08:30
It's Championship Final Day!!!!
After some late night death-match battles last night, we have just a handful of games left in the Championship Bracket before we can crown our Best General this afternoon.
First thing this morning, we have the deciding games in the Redemption tracks, to determine who will get a second chance at victory in the Final.
Here's how things are lining up in the bracket:
Sunday, 08:00
The players in the World Bracket have just one game left today to grab World Championship Points for their country.
At the start of the day the United States is heading up the overall rankings with 41 points, ahead of Canada in second. Australia and England are tied for third spot - but there's still plenty to play for.
The United States also heads the leaderboards for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, with Spain leading for Kill Team, and Canada in front for Warhammer Underworlds.
Saturday, 20:30
The semi-final result for Warhammer Age of Sigmar has been declared, putting England's Tom Mawdsley and his Skaven into tomorrow's Championship final.
Tom defeated the Gloomspite Gitz of fellow Englishman Phil Marshall to progress. Phil is still in with a chance through the Redemption track though. Tomorrow morning he will face the winner of tonight's late-night death match between Royna Andersson and Nicolas Tassone.
Saturday, 20:00
We're through the semi-final round in Warhammer Underworlds, and have our first confirmed finalist for tomorrow. USA's Aman Khusro and Domitan's Stormcoven have stormed into tomorrow's matchup, after victory against France's Cyril Deneux.
But the action doesn't stop there. Tonight's late-night death match will be fought between The Netherlands' Jan-Willem Ploegers and Canada's Steven Painter. The winner of that game will be up early again in the morning to face Cyril in the Redemption track decider, to decide who will face Aman in the final.
Saturday, 19:15
It's not just top gaming skills on display at the World Championships of Warhammer – there's incredible painting skills too.
We caught up with Jaden Iwaasa, who scored second-best painted in Warhammer 40,000 for his extensively converted Chaos Knights army. His War Dogs are now literally dogs, equipped with a second set of legs, and bigger skull heads from the Citadel Skulls kit.
Saturday, 18:30
Players in the Worlds Bracket have finished their second and last game of the day – and have been racking up World Championship Points for their countries.
Canada has overtaken the United States at the top of the Overall rankings thanks to a strong showing in Warhammer Underworlds. The USA is still leading in Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Meanwhile, Spain has the lead for Kill Team.
Tomorrow brings one last game in the Worlds Bracket, so players will be keen to score as many points as possible, while those in the Championship Bracket still have several battles to fight.
Saturday, 17:30
In the Kill Team Championship Bracket,
Aleksa Pavkovicand
Alberto 'Java'have prevailed in their respective matches to enter today's semi-final – battling for an assured place in the Grand Final. Both players have gone completely undefeated so far in the World Championships of Warhammer, making this a truly seismic clash between Kill Team maestros.
Saturday, 17:00After an extremely tight Warhammer 40,000 game that ended with a difference of just TWO Victory Points, it appeared that John Lennon's Space Marines had won out against Mani Cheema's Chaos Space Marines.
At the end of the game, the players realised one of the key manoeuvres may not have been technically executable; rather than risk the potential for an unfair victory in such a close game, John exhibited top sportsmanship and conceded the game.
John is still in contention for the Championship though – but will now face a tougher route to the final through the Redemption track. This sets Mani Cheema up for a semi-final showdown against Lachlan Rigg with Heretic Astartes on both sides.
Saturday 16:40
Tom Mawdsleyand
Phil Marshallare the only players as-yet undefeated in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Championship Bracket, and will now face off for a guaranteed spot in tomorrow's epic Grand Final. Will it be Tom's Skaven who claim victory for the Great Horned Rat, or will their ambitions be thwarted by Phil's horde of Gloomspite Gitz?
Saturday 16:20
The Championship Bracket Round 2 results for Warhammer Underworlds are in, seeing
Aman Khusroand
Cyril Deneuxgo through to the semi-finals on the Winner's track. Both will now face off for a place in tomorrow's Final. Victory in the next game means they will only need to win once in the Grand Final to be crowned Best General.
Saturday, 15:00
As we get to the end of the day's second round of Championship Bracket games, it's worth remembering that many of the matchups are being streamed live from the arena on Twitch, across multiple streams with three different languages.
Players in the hall will see overhead cameras and commentator desks clustered around the top tables.
The Warhammer TV Twitch channel is streaming in English, and there's also coverage in Spanish and French, courtesy of Voz de Horus and Frenchwargamer.
Saturday, 14:00
Round 2 of the Championship Bracket is still raging, and a second loss for any player will knock them out of the running for Best General. Although they will play a third game to determine their final placing – and their ultimate bragging rights – fourth to eighth will all earn a respectable six points for their country.
The second game of the day in the Worlds Bracket is also starting soon, with the players enjoying a more relaxed schedule over the weekend compared to the gruelling Championship Bracket. Many players have been using their free time to play even more games of Warhammer, however, with some throwing dice long into the night as they spend time with new friends and distant compatriots.
Saturday, 13:00
The Worlds Bracket is well underway across all four games. Winning all three games in their bracket will earn players a medal based on their record in the Pools stage, and all victories contribute towards their Best Overall ranking – which could be won by anyone across the entire Championship, as it combines both gaming and painting scores.
Saturday, 12:15
We're heading in to Round 2 of the Championship Bracket. Here's the match ups.
Remember, the players who lost a game are still in with a chance of reaching the Championship Final - but they'll now have to battle each other on a separate track.
Saturday, 11:00
We'll be expecting the results of the first Championship Bracket games imminently. While we wait, here's a reminder of how the double elimination system works.
A player who stays on the winning track has a much easier ride to the Championship final, so there'll be some fiercely fought games ahead. But one loss doesn't mean you're out.
Saturday, 09:30
Players in the Championship bracket have been playing since 8am, but those in the World bracket got to sleep in, with their first game kicking off at 10am today.
A look at the country leaderboard shows that United States is currently in lead overall, with 40 World Championship Points, followed by Canada in second and Australia in third.
The USA is also leading the rankings in both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, while Poland is leading in Kill Team, and Canada is in front for Warhammer Underworlds.
Saturday, 08:30
After the sad withdrawal of Richard Siegler, he has been replaced in the Warhammer 40,000 Championship bracket by Kyle McCord, who came second in Group 2. The players reseated to reflect the new seedings. Here's the games that have just kicked off:
Saturday, 08:00 - Championship Bracket begins!
Saturday has arrived, and that means that World Championships have been bracketed.
The top players from each of the pools have been seeded according to their win record and will now face off in a gruelling double-elimination knockout to determine the Best Generals.Unfortunately, Richard Siegler – who qualified for the Championship Bracket with a truly incredible unbeaten record in his group – has had to withdraw. We sincerely wish Richard the best, and look forward to his (inevitably awesome) World Championship run in 2024.
Friday, 22:00 - The Warhammer Preview!
Amid all of the excitement here in Atlanta, it's easy to forget that there's even more to look forward to - a full Warhammer Preview!
Attendees at the World Championships and Grand Narrative just got a sneaky early look, but you can tune in right now and see all the epic reveals! Click the link below!
Friday, 20:00
While the numbers are being collated, here's a reminder of the journey ahead for our World Championship contenders.
The top players from each pool will advance to the Championship Bracket, for a chance to win the Best General award. It’s a cut-and-thrust double elimination tournament, meaning those who lose a bracket game can still claw their way back in – but losing a second game means they are out. A Championship Bracket player who loses a game could end up playing seven games over the next two days if they battle their way to the final - a gruelling prospect for even the hardiest gamer.
The rest of the players enter the World Bracket, playing three games over Saturday and Sunday. World Bracket players can still contend for the Best Overall, Best in Faction, and other awards. Their games will also win points that affect their country’s overall ranking.
Friday, 19:00
Round five is coming to an end, which means we're close to finding out the players who will qualify for the Championship Bracket.
The final dice are being rolled, results collected, and our top team of boffins behind the scenes are crunching the numbers so that we can confirm the bracket. We'll have the details for you soon! The country leaderboard has also been shaken up. As it stands, England have fallen down the overall rankings to fourth, as the US takes the top spot, followed by Canada and France. But that could still change tonight as the last of the day's results are added in.
Friday, 17:30
After round four, the number of unbeaten players in Warhammer 40,000 has fallen to just ten. With only eight spots available in the Championship Bracket, will the fifth and final round in Pools decide who claims one? Or will the victorious players be selected based on their battlefield record?
Friday, 16:00
Round four is over, and the leader table has shifted again. England are currently leading the overall rankings with 42 World Championship Points, ahead of the US and Canada who are tied in second with 39.
England is also leading the rankings for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, tied with the United States, while France is in third place.
For Warhammer 40,000, Germany is tied with the United States in first place with England in third.
Spain have retained the top spot for Kill Team, but are now tied with Poland, with England in third. Meanwhile, Canada have leapt into the lead for Warhammer Underworlds. Spain are in second, with the United States in third.
The all-important fifth round has now begun, with places in the Championship Bracket still up for grabs.
Friday, 15:00
Competition has been fierce on the Warhammer Underworlds tables, with only two players going unbeaten so far. This will mean that even those with a loss or two have a chance of making the Championship Bracket, and it's all still to play for going into the final round.
Even those who go through to the Worlds Bracket will be in strong contention for Best Overall awards, and may walk home with several medals.
Friday, 14:00
Kill Team players have had to change up their tactics today as missions have sent them into the bowels dangerous space hulk, using the rules from the Gallowdark series that began with Into the Dark. These tense and claustrophobic missions add new challenges to the game, as operatives burst from airlocks and around blind corners to engage their opponents in vicious close-range battles. Here, those kill teams who favour close combat have bulkheads and barricades to cover their advance, while sharpshooters must set up carefully placed firing lines to ensure the press of bodies doesn't obscure their shooting.
Friday, 13:00
With Round 4 underway, only 22 of the 174 Warhammer 40,000 players are as-yet undefeated, making these final two rounds of Pools a critical moment to those aiming for the Championship Bracket. No player has managed to score a perfect 100 in all three games so far, which speaks to the sheer calibre of play going on under the roof of the World Championships.
In Warhammer Age of Sigmar, just 12 of the 88 players have chalked up no losses so far, though one player representing France has dropped just a single Victory Point in three hard-fought games.
Friday, 12:00
It's a quick turnaround on games today - we're already into round four.
A quick look at the current country standings on the leader board above has Canada, England and the United States all sitting at the top of the country rankings with 39 World Championship Points points each.
The US is topping the Warhammer 40,000 rankings, with Canada and Australia closely behind in second and third.
For Warhammer Age of Sigmar, France are out in front with England and Canada closely behind.
Spain is topping the Kill Team rankings, followed by Poland and the US. Finally, Spain is also heading up the Warhammer Underworlds rankings, followed by the US and Canada. But we're only three games in! There's still lots to play for, and leads can easily be toppled.
Friday, 11:00
The final, critical Battle Rounds and Turning Points are coming to a close for today's first games – some battlefields lie still, littered with the dead, while others still rage with the dying embers of combat. All three of today's games are an important step towards each country's final standing, and with the strategic wheels now fully greased, the final two Pools rounds are set to be some of the fiercest Warhammer play this year.
Friday, 10:00
A greater picture of the overall standings is starting to emerge as scores for Painting update on the league tables - visible at the top of this article. First place guarantees a critical seven World Championship Points for the recipient's country – one of the highest awards outside the Championship Bracket's podium – and contributes towards the Best Overall total.
Stay tuned to the live blog where we'll have pictures of the top-ranked armies over the course of the weekend.
Friday, 09:30
There's also a large variety among leaders of Kill Team and Warhammer Underworlds.
The four Kill Team pools are currently led by Imperial Navy Breachers, Chaos Cultists, Veteran Guardsmen, and Inquisitorial Agents.
For Warhammer Underworlds the top two players from the two groups go through, with those slots currently held by The Gnarlspirit Pack, The Crimson Court, Hexbane's Hunters, and Domitan's Stormcovern.
Truly a diverse range of factions on display, but with three games to play today, there'll be plenty of changes before the Championship brackets are decided.
Friday, 08:30
Looking at the results yesterday, there is a huge variety of armies placing well in their respective pools.
Eight different factions are leading their Warhammer 40,000 pods at the moment - Black Templars, Leagues of Votann, T'au Empire, World Eaters, Orks, Necrons, Aeldari and Astra Militarum.
Over at Warhammer Age of Sigmar, their four pools are being led by Gloomspite Gitz, Ossiarch Bonereapers, Slaves to Darkness, and Idoneth Deepkin.
Friday, 08:00
Day Two, and round three!
Things get serious for players today, with three games in the pools stage which will determine who qualifies for the Championships bracket at the weekend.
Those destined to go through to the Worlds bracket will have lots to play for as well, with medals still up for grabs for Best Overall - and all important World Championship Points for their country.
Thursday, 19:30
"I lost both games, but so did some really good players, so I think I still did pretty good."Spirits are high as the final few games play out and Warhammer fans attending the World Championships rub shoulders with the incoming Grand Narrative attendees, who are arriving for registration. These Field Commanders will soon be deployed to the Palat System for three days of immersive Narrative action – and direct the course of Warhammer 40,000 lore. We'll have a separate live blog following the unfolding narrative.
Thursday, 18:30
Painting scores are being allocated overnight, which could seriously shake up the leaderboards.Until now all of the players have been "tied" for first place on the medal table, which would give them the maximum 7 World Championship Points. But during the day tomorrow, the painting scores will be updated per the tournament rules packs. We'll bring you pictures of some of the best armies over the course of the weekend.
Thursday, 17:30
The second round is drawing to a close, which means we'll soon have the results from the first day of gaming. Tomorrow is a busier day for players, with three rounds which will lead to the all-important bracketing for the Championship.
Thursday, 16:30
There are 88 phenomenally skilled Warhammer Age of Sigmar players battling it out here in Atlanta, and it's still anyone's game after round one. There are 16 players sharing the top spot, with the maximum 28 victory points scored - only time will tell who can hold onto their record. All of the factions for Warhammer Age of Sigmar made the journey from the Mortal Realms to the World Championships, except two. We assume that the Hedonites of Slaanesh were too busy partying to hear the roll call, and The Cities of Sigmar's new Battletome came out shortly after submissions for the World Championships closed.
Thursday, 15:30
"That was round one? It felt like a round four in any other tournament!"
Round two has begun! All players still have a shot at ascending to the Championship Bracket, even those that lost in round one - and their win record will determine what medals can be earned in the World Bracket on Saturday and Sunday.
There have already been a few shocks in the group stages, but there's all to play for.
Thursday, 14:30
The World Championships of Warhammer isn't just about battling for personal glory. Players are scoring points for their country for outstanding painting, overall victory points, faction rankings, and more, with medals and accolades to be claimed at all levels of competition.
Take the delegates from Wales, for instance – although only three players have made the event, two are playing completely unique armies within their respective games, which guarantees them top marks in the Faction Rankings!
Thursday, 13:30Eleven countries and 16 different factions are represented in the Kill Team championships this weekend. Most popular are the Ork Kommandos, making up seven of the 38-strong field. Will their kunnin' and brutality win out over the Blooded, Inquisitorial Agents, Corsair Voidscarred, or their many other opponents?
Thursday, 12:30 - First results coming in
The first results are coming in from round one.In an outstanding showing, every single faction from Warhammer 40,000 is present at the World Championships, with lone Adeptus Mechanicus and Imperial Knights commanders putting their best foot forward into a field brimming with Aeldari, Space Marines, and legions of Chaos.
Thursday, 11:30 - Battles ragingWhat's the most Warhammer games you've played in a weekend? Players who progress to the Championship bracket and lose their first game will need to play a whopping 12 games over four days to clinch the Best General award and earn an all-important Gold medal for their country.
Thursday, 10:00 - Games have started!
"I think I'm in the death pod."
"I think we're all in the death pod."
– Overheard at the World Championships of Warhammer
The first round matchups of the qualifying pools have been drawn and play is underway across Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, and Warhammer Underworlds. Many of the greatest players from their respective countries are here to win glory for their nation, and make some new friends from the truly international Warhammer community while they're at it.
The going will be tough, but with so many Warhammer fans gathered under one roof, everyone's coming away a winner.
