We’ve still not quite recovered from seeing the amazing new Corsair Voidscarred that we saw two weeks ago – but who will they be facing off against in Kill Team: Nachmund? It could only be the Heretic Astartes.
As we’ve seen from the Eldritch Omens boxed set, there’s really no love lost between the Aeldari and the Chaos Space Marines. The Legionaries in Kill Team: Nachmund come with an additional sprue over their heretical brethren, packed with cool details and weapons to give them even more ways to kill Aeldari.
Much like the T’au Pathfinders from the Kill Team: Chalnath set, this box provides a ton of new customisation options for an existing kit. Legionary kill team commanders are going to be spoilt for choice.
You’ll be able to dominate the battlefield with a range of operatives. Like to gun down your enemies from distance? The Heavy Gunner’s reaper chaincannon will cut a swathe through your foes. Prefer to get up close and personal? The Shrivetalon is bound to leave a mark with his flensing blades. Need some psychic support? That’s where the Balefire Acolyte comes in.
These operatives are painted up in Black Legion colours (the home for ambitious heretics of any persuasion) but these kit enhancements would look at home in most other Legions. The giant axe is perhaps indication of a Khornate mindset, while the Butcher’s fondness for flayed skin could be indicative of a Nostraman origin. The Balefire Acolyte has a book and some flames – the symbolism is obvious for any follower of The Word.
Now that we’ve seen all the miniatures from the new Kill Team boxed set, let’s look at what else is underneath that cardboard lid.
Along with two full kill teams, you get a rulebook featuring details of kill teams in War Zone Nachmund and some new missions that pit the Aeldari Corsairs against the Chaos Space Marines. You also get a lot (and we mean a lot) of Sector Mechanicus terrain for your kill teams to fight over, around, and on top of.
This terrain lets you create your own little corner of the Nachmund Gauntlet and provides your operatives plenty of cover as they make their way across the battlefield. There are also rules that let you use hatches to explore underground and smog stacks that belch toxic smoke into the atmosphere.
Kill Team: Nachmund will be available to pre-order soon. Sign up for our newsletter so you’re among the first to hear when it will be available.
