The third instalment in the Broken Realms saga is up for pre-order this weekend, alongside an incredible model for Be’lakor himself. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch this painting guide to get a really good look at the new miniature.
As you’ve come to expect from the series, Broken Realms: Be’lakor improves several armies with updated warscrolls, fresh warscroll battalions, and even a couple of new units.
Naturally, the Daemons of Chaos get a few compelling options, but just take a look at this section of the table of contents – there are loads of interesting entries to ponder.
While you’ll have to pre-order the book to get the full details, there are a few juicy tidbits we wanted to share with you now. It seems like the Daemons are a great place to start.
Legion of the First Prince
Be’lakor is a being of ancient evil who commands a vast host of Daemons – some coerced, some enslaved, and some that find common cause in the destruction of empires. A new allegiance option found in the book represents the Dark Master’s expansive army.
The Legion of the First Prince can draw on the unfathomable numbers of Be’lakor’s minions to grind their enemies down, represented by the Unyielding Legions battle trait.
If you use Be’lakor, the ability to choose the type of unit you want to summon gives you tremendous tactical flexibility – all the better to fulfil his dastardly plans. To get the most out of his legion, check out the Primordial Commander command trait.
There are lots of other tricks for this army, including access to a unique spell for your Legion of the First Prince wizards, plus boons for both Be’lakor and nearby daemonic units that make them all more durable.
Nighthaunt Processions
Behind the Daemons, the Nighthaunt also receive some very serious boosts in Broken Realms: Be’lakor, making this book a must-have for generals of the ethereal hosts.
The book contains two Nighthaunt Processions, which add additional keywords and allegiance abilities to your army. If you choose Lady Olynder’s Emerald Host, for example, your Hexwraiths become the Knights of Regret, Dolorum’s elite household guardians.
These bodyguards make your general more durable, ensuring they can enact their devious plans.
Alternatively, you can pick Reikenor’s Condemned, led by Lady Olynder’s favoured proxy, Reikenor the Grimhailer. Expect powered-up Chainrasps and Glaivewraith Stalkers, among other goodies.
The Nighthaunt are also getting a new support Hero in the form of the incredibly creepy Krulghast Cruciator. Take a look at them in the Lords of the Mortal Realms preview, if you missed it.
Kharadron Overlords
Always innovating, the high-flying duardin will find a handful of fresh Guild Triumphs in Broken Realms: Be’lakor.
You’ll have to get your hands on the book to see all of the other treats for your Kharadron Overlords. Rest assured, they offer some welcome benefits for an already-strong army (so strong, in fact, they already have an entire Metawatch article dedicated to using them).
Just as with Broken Realms: Morathi and Broken Realms: Teclis, Broken Realms: Be’lakor offers loads of new ways to play some of your favourite armies and recreate the momentous events of the realm-shaking story. Pre-orders go live on Saturday, but in the meantime, grab the Start Collecting! Daemons of Slaanesh box to kickstart your Legion of the First Prince.
