We’ve already shared the rules for fighting The Battle of Pluto and The Defence of Sotha in the Age of Darkness. In the next part of our series of exemplary battles for The Horus Heresy, you can play out the brutal conflict between the Iron Warriors and the Imperial Fists at the Siege of Hydra Cordatus.
As with the previous campaign packs, this one comes with background on the battle, new missions to try out, and a new unit – in this case, the Dominator Cohort* for the Iron Warriors. Here’s Andy Hoare from the Horus Heresy team to tell us all about the latest campaign.Andy: This month, the Horus Heresy writers have been delving deep into the lore of the Age of Darkness to bring us details on the Siege of Hydra Cordatus,** taking inspiration from the story told in the novel Angel Exterminatus to create a historical narrative, two gaming scenarios, and a special unit entry designed to make use of existing miniatures in a new way.
The great thing about this series is that we get to shine a spotlight on events that Horus Heresy players know about but which aren't big enough to make it into a full supplement. I’m sure that, like us, you have battles you've read about in novels that you want to learn more about, famous (or infamous) units that you'd like to build, and scenarios that you'd love to play out on the tabletop.
