Swear Bloody Vows to the Ruinous Powers and Tear Your Foes in Half With the Darkoath Savagers

Fancy a relaxing stroll through the Varanite mines? Searching for your seat at the Everchosen’s right hand? Unwilling to ever wear more than a few leather straps at any one time? We’ve got you covered, as Warcry: Red Harvest is available for pre-order this weekend.

Alongside a whistle-stop tour of Archaon’s Health and Safety-defying excavations,* Red Harvest is your first chance to get hold of the spider-wrangling Tarantulos Brood and the tide of muscle, fur, and little else that are the Darkoath Savagers.

Where many warbands prefer to worship Chaos as the manifestation of various creatures, the Darkoath Savagers take a straightforward approach. Screaming oaths and vows to the Ruinous Powers directly, they murder their way through the realms, hoping to win the favour of their gods through acts of bravado, immense violence, and fabulous muscles.

Warbands are led by a Slaughterborn, strapping warriors who pride themselves on carrying weapons as big as themselves.

Thirsty for violence, they love a Display of Brutality, which lets them seamlessly take another action after decapitating a pitiless fool.

While life as a Darkoath is often a short and bloody affair, those who can hear the words of the Ruinous Powers are revered. The God-speaker is one such tribesperson, whose devotion grants them access to fearsome ranged magics.

God-speakers often gouge out their own eyes as a mark of trust in the Chaos gods. In return, they receive glimpses of the future, manifesting in-game as the ability Visions of Glory.

All that whispering and murmuring will hopefully give you the edge when trying to fulfil your vows – a core part of this Warband’s fighting style is keeping up their murderous momentum with A Vow Fulfilled.

The already impressive Proven can take advantage of this ability to become ripped beyond mortal ken.

Their coup de grace is the Quad ability Deathblow, which allows your fighters to unleash an overwhelming blow that turns their opponent into a smear of crimson, sure to appease at least one of the Ruinous powers.**

That’s quite enough rippling muscles for one article. Join us tomorrow when we’ll be taking a look at how both the Darkoath Savagers and the Tarantulos Brood work in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

In case you’d forgotten after witnessing all that gore-slick flexing, Warcry: Red Harvest is available for pre-order from Saturday and contains both the Tarantulos Brood and the Darkoath Savagers. Our pre-order weekend promise is in place, which means that if you place an order over the weekend, you’ll be guaranteed to receive a box, even if we have to make you a new one from scratch.

Which is your favourite Darkoath fighter, and what violent delights have the God-speakers whispered in your ears? Let us know over on the Warhammer Community Twitter.

* Every compliance officer they send ends up getting fed to Dorghar.

** To be honest, all the dark gods love it when their foes are slaughtered, but Khorne always has an anticipatory eyebrow raised when the Darkoath take the field.
