The hive city of Tertium has been choked with bodies since the last free update for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide sent players into the depths of a corrupted Carnival, and now the action turns inwards as strange psychic visions plunge our heroes into a gruelling fight inside the mind of the ship’s resident psyker.

Nightmares and Visions adds a whole new wave-based game mode, with tweaks and improvements across the board and a rebalancing of the end-game Havoc mode.
Venturing into the mind of a bound psyker sounds dangerous – rooms twist and reposition after every foray into the dungeon, and only the randomised abilities you select will keep you from a quick and ignominious death.
Victory unlocks fascinating new data on your favourite shipmates, with extra background lore illuminating the pasts of the Mourningstar’s bridge crew.

This free update comes with a number of major tweaks, beginning with the Havoc game mode. This presents top-level players with an even greater challenge, and these updates add to the danger with enemies who heal each other and empower their allies upon death.
The Ogryn class is also getting their entire talent tree overhauled, adding to their tactical flexibility and bumping their already prodigal toughness even higher. A few balance changes will touch the other player classes, to make sure everything is as fun and balanced as it can be.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is out now on PC, Playstation 5, and XBox Series S/X, alongside this free new DLC, entitled Nightmares and Visions. And as luck would have it, the base game is 50% off on Steam for PC users today.
