Teach Young People Vital Skills and Introduce a New Favourite Hobby with the Warhammer Alliance Programme

WHAlliance Sep10 Header

Games Workshop is committed to supporting young Warhammer hobbyists in education wherever we’re nearby, through an initiative called Warhammer Alliance. Warhammer is a wonderful hobby for young people, which we saw in a recent article about club leader experiences from around the world.

The Warhammer Alliance programme helps young people to develop new skills and behaviours in a fun and exciting environment. These skills include arts, mathematics, and critical thinking, and the social skills needed to succeed in modern life, all while developing a genuine passion about the Warhammer hobby and learning in general.

Club members and leaders are encouraged to immerse themselves in their imagination while discovering new and exciting elements of the hobby to explore in a safe environment. Combined with a wealth of support, club leaders find it easier than ever to run sessions using the Warhammer Alliance resource pack, found on the Warhammer Alliance website.

First-time applicants receive a free Warhammer Alliance Resource Pack when they sign up, full of models and magazines for both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and all of the accessories needed to dive in.

This year the pack has been redesigned based on feedback and suggestions from educators around the world. It features loads of new things for club members to experience – including building, painting, and playing, and shows people how to continue their Warhammer journey with the beginner-friendly Battle Honours programme.

We also provide an additional pack for clubs every few years, while existing participants can top up their packs each new academic year and get support from their local store. This support can vary from location to location, but always includes more miniatures for use with new club members.

Eligible clubs receive an email in the first few weeks of the new term with instructions on how to take part. If you’re an Educational Warhammer Club leader,* or would like to become one, you can apply to the programme at the Warhammer Alliance website. While you’re there, make sure to check out the resources page to see the kinds of support available for club leaders.
