We’re less than a month away from the World Championships of Warhammer, and there’s a real tournament buzz. Who will be crowned the best player in the world? Will we have another nail-biting finish on the cards? Which country will top our international leaderboards?
And while that’s all going on, what will become of the Kessandras System when the Grand Narrative plunges hundreds of dedicated commanders into a three-day event that will change the ongoing lore in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. With parallel games in Atlanta and Warhammer World deciding the outcome of the story, it’s guaranteed to be an event for the history books.
The World Championships of Warhammer return to Atlanta Georgia between the 21st and 24th of November for another global celebration of Warhammer. There have been 325 qualifying events spanning five continents, with winners earning their places at the finals.
With 700 players in attendance representing nearly 50 countries, this will be a truly global celebration of Warhammer!
Across these four days, we will crown individual World Champions and Country Champions from four game systems: Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, and Warhammer Underworlds.
As this year sees the largest number of attendees at the World Championships to date, it’s only fitting that there will be more coverage than ever for the event. We’ll be covering all four game systems in English, while Warhammer 40,000 will also be covered in French and Spanish, while Warhammer Age of Sigmar will also have French commentary, and Kill Team will have Spanish commentary.
Players will compete in pools on Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend, the Top 16 from each game system will compete for the title of World Champion in their chosen game, in which all players will compete for awards such as Best Overall and Best in Faction. Games and coverage will begin as early as 8:30am each day, finishing by 6pm or 7pm depending on the game system. We’ll have detailed schedules and coverage information in the week before the main event!
While we wait to find out how the World Championships and Grand Narrative conclude, there’s a new set of Warhammer World events to look forward to coming in February 2025 – starting with the first Warhammer Underworlds tournament of the new edition.
