We’ve already learned the history of Krieg in yesterday’s recap showing how a stable world rebelled and became an irradiated hellscape populated by zealous warriors who live only to make amends through martial sacrifice.
But what if you want to learn more about the fanatical Death Korps of Krieg? Black Library has you covered with three key titles, all three written by Krieg superfan Steve Lyons – whom we recently interviewed here.
Krieg
Fifteen hundred years ago, Krieg declared independence from the Imperium of Man and paid the price. One loyal soul defied its treacherous rulers, and laid the world to waste. From these ashes emerged a unique fighting force, forged and tempered in nuclear fire…
Today, the Death Korps of Krieg lay siege to a captured hive city on the outskirts of the system-spanning Octarius War, in a desperate attempt to secure the cordon that stops untold masses of Orks and Tyranids from spilling out into the Imperium at large. The Korpsmen are relentless, ruthless, implacable, and unstoppable, even in the face of a war that seems unwinnable. How far will they go to achieve victory, and is history doomed to repeat itself?
Krieg will also be the topic of discussion in the first episode of an upcoming Warhammer+ show: Black Library Book Club. That's coming towards the end of February, so now is the perfect time to grab a copy and dive in!
Dead Men Walking
When the Necrons rise, a mining planet descends into a cauldron of war, and the remorseless foes decimate the human defenders. Salvation comes in an unlikely form – the Death Korps of Krieg, a force as unfeeling as the Necrons themselves. When the two powers go to war, casualties are high, and the magnitude of the destruction is unimaginable.
Siege of Vraks
Mustering an army from the ranks of the Death Korps of Krieg, the Astra Militarum embarks on a long and desperate siege to save the planet Vraks from the madness of an apostate preacher. It will last 17 years, cost the lives of millions, and attract the attention of daemons and heretics alike, but the Death Korps must claw back victory, inch by bloody inch, from the hands of the enemy.
It is on Vraks that the Krieg will earn their reputation as the Imperium’s most ruthless fighters. It is on Vraks that an officer named Tyborc, expecting to die, will find a new way to live. And it is on Vraks that the Death Korps of Krieg will reach their breaking point.
Krieg and Dead Men Walking are available in various editions from Black Library here, while the paperback edition of Siege of Vraks is coming soon! We’ll have more from the Death Korps and the Astra Militarum later this week.
