As we hurtle towards April, it’s time for everyone’s favourite part of the month – discovering which miniature will be given away in Warhammer stores, and what collectible coin will be arriving with it.
To celebrate the new Codex: Tyranids, which drops in just a few short weeks with some terrifying improvements to swarming critters, this month’s miniature is the scythe-clawed Tyranid Hormagaunt.
As always, please note the miniature you get in store will only be available while stocks last – and may differ from the one shown above.
While you’re there, collect the paints you’ll need to bring your new Tyranid friend to life, and get the tenth pot free with the Pick ‘N’ Mix Paint Set. You can choose whichever paints you like and the most expensive one is free, so design an eclectic new colour scheme and make that project happen this year.
You can paint up your Hormagaunt as a creation of Hive Fleet Leviathan with just a single Pick ‘N’ Mix Paint Set. All you’ll need is Wraithbone, Carroburg Crimson, and Pallid Wych Flesh for the hide, Naggaroth Night, Druchii Violet, and Slaanesh Grey for the carapace, Khorne Red for the hooves and claws, Bugman's Glow and Reikland Fleshshade for the joints and tongue, and Averland Sunset for the eyes.
You can approach our knowledgeable staff for loads of handy beginners’ tips on painting techniques. For more advanced advice, check out the free Citadel Colour app, which contains tutorials for all sorts of specific colours and models. You can also browse yet more painting videos on the Citadel Colour website.*
There is also a matching coin this month to pay tribute to the Hive Mind, complete with tasteful Tyranid iconography.
The coins are available in store while stocks last – just ask your friendly Warhammer staff how you can nab one.
When you next visit your store, why not bring along a friend? Introduce them to the worlds of Warhammer with one of two free starting miniatures, as well as a free in-store painting and playing experience run by our welcoming staff.
They can also sign up for the Battle Honours programme, which rewards new hobbyists for each step they take in their hobby journey with stamps and free Warhammer loot. They’ll even get a nice booklet to track their progress with!
Head on down to your nearest Warhammer store to see how you can get the miniature and coin of the month, and sign up for our newsletter to learn what next month’s will be.
