BLreleases Nov14 Header22h

Welcome, sports fans – and fans of brilliant books from all across the Warhammer universes. This week, Black Library’s bringing you gridiron glory from the Blood Bowl field, inquisitorial action from the 41st Millennium, a map from the Siege of Terra, and a lot more besides! Let’s take a good look at what you can pre-order today.

With the new season of Blood Bowl starting now, Black Library is re-releasing every one of their Blood Bowl stories across two paperback volumes, which are also available as eBooks.

The Blood Bowl Omnibus collects together all four of Matt Forbeck’s novels – Blood Bowl, Dead Ball, Death Match, and The Rumble in the Jungle – in one massive tome. The stories follow the career of Dirk “Dunk” Hoffnung. Recruited from the battlefield to the Blood Bowl field as the new Thrower for the Bad Bay Hackers, Dirk is faced with all that the wild world of Blood Bowl can throw at him. These hilarious adventures are packed with last-second touchdowns, bone-breaking blocks, and all the sporting references you could hope for.

There’s more wacky action both on and off the pitch in the short story anthology Death on the Pitch: Extra Time. From mysterious pies to incompetent wizards, and featuring loads of your favourite races, this collection delivers bite-sized chunks of Blood Bowl fun. This new Extra Time edition adds two stories that weren’t in the original book – ‘The Freelancer’ by Robert Rath and ‘Dismember the Titans’ by Graeme Lyon – for even more sporting fun!

You can pre-order both these books now, the perfect accompaniment to your copy of the new Blood Bowl: Second Season Edition boxed game. Please note that these will ship in two weeks, alongside the boxed set, rather than next weekend.

Life in the 41st Millennium is grim, dark, and tragic – and Dan Abnett’s Inquisition novels are amongst the best close looks at it, getting deep into the underbelly of the Imperium. Ravenor, the first in the fan-favourite series which tells the story of the physically impaired but psychically powerful inquisitor and his retinue, is back today in a new limited edition

This stunning volume details Ravenor’s investigation into a mysterious Chaos-tainted drug that leads him to a galaxy-spanning conspiracy. It’s presented in a beautiful hardback with foil on the cover and a ribbon bookmark to keep your place. Inside you’ll find a new introduction by author Dan Abnett, who has personally signed every one of the 1,250 numbered copies. This is definitely going to sell out fast, so make sure to grab your copy quickly!

There’s also more classic Warhammer 40,000 fiction from Dan Abnett available to pre-order now, in the form of the MP3 audiobook of The Guns of Tanith. This Gaunt’s Ghosts novel puts the Tanith into new danger, as they learn to make a drop assault on a heavily-fortified world. There’s danger within the regiment as well, as a feud between troopers turns deadly… Pre-order now for more than ten hours of audio action narrated by Toby Longworth.

Return to the beginning of the Siege of Terra with the new paperback edition of The Solar War by John French. This novel focuses on the first stage of the biggest battle in Imperial history, as massive war fleets clash for supremacy across the Solar System. Can Rogal Dorn’s cunningly-wrought defences hold off the might of the Warmaster’s armada or will warp-spawned trickery win the day? Pre-order the paperback now to find out.

You can follow the action in the book on a beautifully designed map of the Solar System. Originally included in the limited edition of The Solar War, the map is now available on a much larger scale.

The Old World’s most famous wandering warriors return in a collection of thrilling tales from the world-that-was. Gotrek & Felix: The Fifth Omnibus sees the adventuring duo face a vast Chaos horde in The Road of Skulls and pit their wits against Khalida and her skeletal armies in The Serpent Queen, both by Josh Reynolds. The omnibus also contains the Lost Tales – three novellas that take Gotrek and Felix to cursed Sylvania and the dwarf port of Barak Varr, alongside a solo tale of the Rememberer from before he ever met the Slayer. A selection of short stories completes the package, giving you loads of the series’ trademark outrageous action and dark humour. Pre-order the paperback and eBook now.
