With Skaventide available for pre-order, it’s time to take a look at all the amazing work the talented folk in the wider Warhammer community have done with their copies of the launch box.
First off, a special round of applause to Maxime who managed to paint every single Stormcast Eternal miniature from Skaventide – that’s 24 hefty miniatures all painted on a deadline – we salute you.
The Lord-Vigilant on Gryph-stalker has proven exceptionally popular, with Katarzyna’s trademark prismatic approach really catching our eye. Joshua’s gloomy Hallowed Knights and Alison’s Astral Templars are also excellent.
Nyara (La Voz De Sigmar) and Kenny both opted for crisp white armour reminiscent of the Knights Excelsior, while Tres has used warmer tones and coloured metallics.
The blindfolded Lord-Veritant and her Gryph-crow companion are next up, with Zac (The Mortal Realms podcast) demonstrating excellent object source lighting. Christine chose something particularly moody, while Nyara presents more impressive white armour.
Joshua, Kenny, and Tres each have their own spins on this determined wizard hunter, showing off how many schemes you can apply to these versatile miniatures.
The imposing Lord-Terminos caught the attention of three painters. Liam uses excellent non-metallic metals, while JP Ganis uses shadow and light for a mood piece, and Marko plumps for rich, vivid colours.
Darcy has a clean white take on the Knight-Questor, with a head swap from the Vigilors kit, while Jessica painted hers in the colours of the Celestial Vindicators.
Liberators may be the no-nonsense rank-and-file of the Stormcast Eternals, but that doesn’t mean our painters lavished any less attention on them. Garfy hits us with some bright and punchy metallics, May reaches for moody tones, and Kenny produces some blood-splattered white.
The white, black, and brass on Nyara’s Liberators really stands out, and we’re a fan of the contrast between green and gold on Tres’ Liberators. Darcy and Alison have also each tested a scheme out on a Liberator – we look forward to seeing the full units.
It wouldn’t be a preview article without a guest spot from Vince, who has yet again provided a selection box of Stormcast Eternals colour schemes applied to the Liberators from Skaventide – we couldn’t pick a favourite even with a hammer over our heads.
The flame-wing redesign of the Prosecutors has inspired many of our painters – Joshua has gone with the Hallowed Knights, Garfy continues with blue-tinged armour, and Jessica continues with her Celestial Vindicators.
More glorious gore-splattered armour from Kenny, sombre metallics from May, with Nyara rounding things up with an evocative scheme.
The final miniatures of our roundup are the Reclusians – Jessica continues her Celestial Vindicators and Alison paints a ferocious Astral Templar.
Thank you to everyone who submitted miniatures, and we’re sorry to anyone that we couldn’t include. If you’re feeling inspired to paint up some of the new Stormcast Eternals, Skaventide is available for pre-order right now.
