The Age of Sigmar is full of warriors bearing the title of Knight. Sigmar hands out the title to his top Stormcast Eternals like it’s going out of style, the dread vampire cavalry of the Kastelai thunder through infantry in a storm of lance and hooves, and brass-trimmed Chaos Knights are a dark, mocking mirror of nobility.
Then there’s Grinkrak’s Looncourt. A particularly shrewd and cynical grot, Grinkrak the Great has worked out that simply mimicking the pomp and ceremony of knighting gives his snivelling subjects a misplaced sense of worth – and with it, bravery.
Now he and his motley band are questing out of the Gnarlwood and into the rest of the Mortal Realms with this free warscroll.
After getting so much practice in Warhammer Underworlds, it’s no wonder that Grinkrak has brought this snivelling simulacrum of martial tradition to bigger battlefields. At the start of the combat phase, he can use ‘I Dub Thee…’ on any MOONCLAN unit within 3”, inspiring them to fight again on death. Perfect for units of gallant-but-reckless Squig Hoppers.
Grinkrak’s knightly retinue, the Looncourt, believe themselves holy guardians of the Great Stinkhorn mushroom around which he holds court. They’ll do anything to protect their mighty liege, which works out just great for him.
Should an ignoble cur attempt to slay the bossgrot, Grinkrak’s Toadies will throw themselves in front of axes, lances, arrows, and arcane bolts to save him. Instead of making a ward roll for incoming damage to Grinkrak, the Looncourt may attempt to take the wound themselves, their martyrdom succeeding on a 3+.
That’s not the only way these shambolic chevaliers can prove themselves. Grinkrak often sends his minions on glorious adventures, hoping to further his latest scheme or just get them out of the way for a bit.
You too can engage in these noble pursuits – choose an objective or terrain feature in enemy territory, and send them off to claim it. Should they secure the chosen objective, The Looncourt’s Quest is completed, and they become emboldened with a 4+ ward save for the rest of the battle!
You can get the full warscroll right here and send these questing grots on their merry way – perhaps they’ll even be able to slay a mighty dragon and uncover a horde of shiny fings or hallucinogenic mushrooms as a reward.
The Looncourt will also be showing up in the new Battletome: Gloomspite Gitz when it arrives in 2023 – sign up for the Warhammer Community newsletter for the latest news when we have it.
