We’re rapidly approaching the two-year anniversary of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and a major new update is on the way, along with the long-awaited release on PlayStation 5.
The next big update, titled Grim Protocols, finds our Inquisitorial misfits returning to the sinister Carnival region of Hive Tertium in a nail-biting new mission, where cultists must be stopped from manifesting dark powers through a communion with their gods. To aid them in their righteous crusade, players can access three new weapon families and blow through hordes of corrupted chaff with two-handed power swords, force swords, and the devastating Ogryn Heavy Stubber.
Expert operatives who’ve mastered the darkness infesting Tertium will find a taxing new endgame experience in Havoc Mode, pushing the challenge even higher. Their herculean efforts will be rewarded with new cosmetic upgrades to show off their prowess, while all players can earn new accolades with an expansion of the Penance progression track.
Finally, to celebrate the second anniversary, the game will host an event that will reward players with a unique weapon trinket. These updates will be coming to the game on the 3rd of December.
Also on the 3rd of December, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide arrives digitally on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro.
This version includes all of the content and improvements from the PC version, enhanced with DualSense Haptic Feedback and sporting a full 60 fps experience at 4k resolution on PlayStation 5 Pro. Those who pre-order the Imperial Edition will be eligible to play six days early.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is available now on Steam, Windows Store and Xbox Series S/X. It is available for pre-order on PlayStation 5.
