Warhammer 40,000 is about stacked odds, crushing losses, and desperate victories against a backdrop of eternal war. Dan Abnett’s classic novel Double Eagle has all of this and more, as the fighter aces of Phantine Air Corps battle across the skies of Enothis for the sake of the Imperium.
Twenty years after Double Eagle first took off, Abnett is back with another tale of aerial aces and dazzling dog fights, entitled Interceptor City, and it’s coming in hot with an incredible Mega Edition.
Inside a box designed to look like a flight recorder case, you’ll find a bundle of Imperial Navy paraphernalia including a numbered and signed copy of Interceptor City with metallic, screen-printed art.
The Imperium is locked into a gruelling war of attrition for the fate of Vesperus during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade – a dead hive on the planet Lysander nicknamed ‘Interceptor City’. Former ace fighter pilot Bree Jagdea is forced to give up her relatively safe life of supply runs, and is enlisted in the infamous Circus 66 squadron, whose contributions to the war effort are far more dangerous. In Vesperus’ lethal rat runs, the smallest error means certain death – the only question is whether Bree can make it through this hellish gauntlet alive.
The Mega Edition includes a map depicting the northern hemisphere of Lysander during the crusade, a pin badge with an antique gold finish, and an embroidered patch. There’s a second book, Pilot’s Notes for Avenger Strike Fighter, a 64-page in-setting manual with a pilot’s log that covers their transit to Vesperus and the events that follow, which is illustrated throughout.
Interceptor City is having its final flight checks and will be prepped for take-off later in the year – we’ll have details on its release right here on Warhammer Community just as soon as we can find our flying goggles.
