Middle-earth™ community painters share their Battles of Edoras™

The new edition of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game is currently available to pre-order – and will hit the shelves on the 14th of December. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim™ – Battle of Edoras is the hefty starter set for a fantastic new edition, a treasure trove containing 56 brand new plastic miniatures from the forces of Rohan and the Hill Tribes.

Painters from the Middle-earth hobby community were lucky enough to receive early copies of the box, and they’ve painted up a treat for us.

Adam from Siege Studios has painted two heroes: Haleth Prince of Rohan and Wulf, High Lord of the Hill Tribes. These new miniatures are bursting with character, and Adam has taken his time to bring them up to display level with great results.

Jason and Matt from Sprues & Brews have tackled as much of the box as they could between them, with Jason painting the Rohan Warriors on foot, alongside Haleth and Háma.

Matt on the other hand has taken a stab at the Hill Tribes and their fearsome leaders Wulf and General Targg. He’s even found time to sneak the dangerously charismatic Freca to his collection.

The new Rohan miniatures present even more opportunities for creating gorgeous scenes that could have come straight from any of the movies, as Daniel from HVM Workbench has so proficiently proven.

Our very own David is a huge fan of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, and jumped at the chance to paint up not just some warriors of Rohan… but some alternate traitorous versions…

Finally, Vincent Knotley has provided a prismatic platter of the Warriors of Rohan to provide inspiration should you wish to explore the uncharted territory of non-canonical colours.

Thanks to everyone who took part. That’s plenty of inspiration for your own The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim™  – Battle of Edoras boxed set. When you’ve painted yours, share your progress with us on our X/Twitter account.
