With its treasure trove of rare technology and gear, and its fertile hunting grounds for those keen to test their skills against the Malstrain Genestealers, Hive Secundus has become an attractive destination for the greedy gangs and guilds of Necromunda.
Reaching its sunken ruins is no simple task. Travel through the hazardous Exclusion Zone and into the depths of Secundus is eased, however, by the existence of Abyssal Ferryman, crews of hard-bitten survivors and rogues who eke out a living in the inhospitable wastes.
Madryc Helbane and Lugrun are two such Ferrymen. Helbane is an orphan of the Hell’s Warden massacre who has since gone on to become a legend among the Ferrymen of Port Grave for both his skill and tenacity. He is accompanied by the Ogryn Lugrun, a former slave long-since abandoned by his masters, who formed a fast bond with the maverick Helbane.
Together, the pair help passengers journey into the Abyss, combining years of experience in tackling the treacherous journey with a vast assortment of custom tools and instruments. Unlike many of their kin, Madryc is more than happy to get his hands dirty fighting the Malstrain, especially with the muscle of Lugrun at his side.
These Dramatis Personae can be hired for a cost as usual, or taken as part of a Ferryman team for free in an Underhells campaign – replacing the Ferryman Skipper and Ferryman Rig-hand.
Ferryman teams descend from a number of different Enclaves, each with a special skill set they use to help the gangs they accompany. Hunter Enclaves are skilled in tackling the Malstrain and are Cunning Killers who provide a re-roll for failed Wound rolls against Roaming Horrors.
Survivors, on the other hand, have learned how to patch up injuries and endure the terrible conditions of Hive Secundus, giving fallen comrades a Second Chance with a free Medical Escort in each cycle of an Underhells Campaign.

While this Abyssal Ferryman team is in the employ of the gang, all members of the team and any friendly fighters within 6" can re-roll failed Wound rolls against Roaming Horrors.
SECOND CHANCE
While this Abyssal Ferryman team is in the employ of the gang, once during each cycle the gang may perform one Medical Escort post-battle action costing zero credits.
This Medical Escort post- battle action may also be used to save a fighter that suffered a Memorable Death (66) result on the Lasting Injury table.
